Indian cricketer, KL Rahul, who had suffered from sports hernia is expected to be back on the field in between 6 to 12 weeks. The cricketer has finally shared a major update about his surgery, and the signs are quite positive. For the unversed, a sports hernia is an injury to a muscle or a tendon in the lower abdomen part of the person that causes chronic pain. A sportsperson can achieve full fitness with proper medication, therapy and rehabilitation for up to 12 weeks. No wonder KL Rahul's massive fanbase and the Indian cricketing board will be expecting the same from the cricketer.
For the uninitiated, KL Rahul is currently in a steady relationship with Sunil Shetty and Mana Shetty's daughter, Athiya Shetty. The lovebirds had kept their relationship under the wraps for a long time before making it official during Ahan Shetty's film, Tadap's premiere. However, the adorable family pictures of the Shetty parivaar featuring KL Rahul had confirmed the rumours about the cricketer's relationship with Athiya.

On June 30, 2022, KL Rahul took to his Instagram handle and shared the much-awaited update about the surgery for sports hernia. The cricketer revealed that he is in Germany at the moment and confirmed the surgery was successful. Reflecting on the recovering process, KL Rahul admitted that the past couple of weeks were quite challenging for him. Along with the note in which he opened up about his surgery, he also shared a smiling picture of himself, and it brought immense joy to his massive fandom, who was quite worried about him. KL Rahul's recovery note in the caption can be read as:
"Hello everyone. It's been a tough couple of weeks but the surgery was successful. I'm healing and recovering well. My road to recovery has begun. Thank you for your messages and prayers. See you soon."
As soon as KL Rahul's IG post went live, it was his future-sala and actor, Ahan Shetty, who commented, "Back Stronger", followed by a flexing biceps emoticon. Everyone is aware of the fact that Ahan and KL Rahul share a warm bond with each other, and this gesture from the actor once again proved it right. After a few minutes, KL Rahul's girlfriend and Ahan's sister, Athiya Shetty shared the cricketer's picture on her IG story and put a red heart emoticon atop it. The doting girlfriend wrote nothing but her sweet gesture was enough to speak volumes about their love for each other. Check it out!

Last month in an interview with ETimes, Athiya Shetty had addressed the reports speculating about her wedding with her beau, KL Rahul, along with the possibility of moving together in a live-in relationship. However, in response to these reports, the actress had confirmed that she was indeed moving into a new house but with her parents, Suniel Shetty, Mana Shetty and her brother, Ahan Shetty, not with KL Rahul. Athiya had also talked up about the speculations about her wedding with KL Rahul. She had said:
"I am not moving in with anyone, but my parents! My family and I will be staying in this brand new home. I am not answering any of these questions. I am tired of all this, now I only laugh them off. Let people think whatever they want to."
