A 22-year-old man named Tyler Robinson has been identified as the alleged shooter and taken into custody. However, the more shocking part is reportedly, it was his father, Matthew, who turned him in to the authorities. Who are Tyler Robinson's mom and dad?

Tyler Robinson's mother, Amber Jones Robinson, is a Utah native. She reportedly works for Intermountain Support Coordination Services, an organization contracted by the state to help disabled people get adequate care. She has been an active social media user and frequently shared updates about her family life, vacation photos, school milestones, and bonding moments with her children. In one of her Facebook posts in 2021, she opened up about her experience of visiting the University of Utah campus with Tyler. Amber admitted that spending 'one-on-one time' with her son made her feel special. Apart from her work and family life, Amber kept a low profile.

Tyler Robinson's father, Matthew Robinson, is being described as a man of principle. According to the Daily Mail, he is a 27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff's Department and a registered Republican voter. Tyler's dad is believed to be the person who convinced his son to come forward after Tyler allegedly confessed to his crime. The outlet reported that Matthew then called the authorities and asked them to take Tyler into custody. Former President, Donald Trump himself confirmed the news in an interview with Fox News. In his words:

"The person was involved with law enforcement, but was a person of faith, a minister, and brought him to a US Marshal who was fantastic. They drove into the police headquarters, and he's there now. We have the person that we think is the person we're looking for."

The alleged suspect of Charlie Kirk's murder has been identified as a 22-year-old suspect in Charlie Kirk's killing. The FBI has released certain photographs of the killer, alleged to be Tyler, which show him in a black long-sleeve shirt with an American flag print. He wore dark sunglasses, a baseball cap, and Converse sneakers to possibly hide his identity. The suspect carried a black backpack. According to Utah State University, Tyler briefly studied there in 2021, but soon left. He grew up in Washington, Utah, with his parents and two younger brothers, Austin and Logan. Tyler lived in a USD 600,000 six-bedroom home in Washington, Utah, reported Daily Mail.

Charlie Kirk, who was known for his strong conservative views, co-founded Turning Point, USA at the age of 18. It was a student movement that grew into one of the most influential conservative youth organizations in the country. He later expanded with Turning Point Action and Turning Point Faith by combining political activism with religious values. On September 10, 2025, Charlie attended a speaking event at Utah Valley University for his 'American Comeback' tour. During the session, he was suddenly struck in the neck by a bullet. He was immediately rushed for emergency care, but could not be saved.
