Ashutosh Gowariker's Son, Konark Ties The Knot With Niyati: Inside The Grand Wedding Reception

Renowned filmmaker, Ashutosh Gowariker’s son, Konark Gowariker, just boarded the marital wagon. On March 2, 2025, Konark tied the knot with Niyati Kanakia, daughter of real estate magnate, Rasesh Babubhai Kanakia of Kanakia Builders. Following the wedding, the family hosted a grand reception in Mumbai, attended by business tycoons, political figures and, of course, several of Bollywood’s A-listers.

Konark, the son of acclaimed filmmaker, Ashutosh Gowariker and producer, Sunita Gowariker, married Niyati, the daughter of real estate magnate Rasesh Babubhai Kanakia of Kanakia Builders. The couple’s pre-wedding festivities kicked off with an intimate haldi ceremony on February 28, 2025. Several videos and pictures from the celebrations have surfaced online, showcasing an extravagant wedding filled with dance, music, food and heartfelt moments. The bride and groom were also seen having the moment of their lives enjoying the dance performances to celebrate their marital union.

Coming to the bride and groom, Niyati stunned in a pastel pink lehenga choli with gold and silver detailing and embellishments. She draped a matching dupatta over her shoulders, adorned with similar embellishments. Her look was completed with a diamond choker necklace, a multi-layered necklace, matching earrings, a maang teeka, and bangles. Her gorgeous ensemble was beautifully balanced by soft glam makeup. The groom, Konark, looked dapper in a cream-toned sherwani with silver threadwork worn over a churidar pant.

The wedding reception of the newly married couple was nothing short of a glam fashion event. The list of attendees included some of the biggest stars of Bollywood, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Anupam Kher, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and Chunky Panday. Star couples like Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, as well as Sonali Bendre and Goldie Behl, also graced the event.

Big political personalities, including Maharashtra CM, Ekanth Shinde, were also among the attendees. We also spotted actress, Pooja Hegde, whose Bollywood journey started with Ashutosh Gowariker's film, Mohenjo Daro.

Konark and Niyati’s wedding festivities began with a fun-filled haldi ceremony on February 28, 2025. For the day, Konark looked dapper in a classic white kurta-pyjama, keeping it simple yet elegant. Niyati stunned in a pastel pink lehenga with intricate embroidery and mirror work, paired with a matching blouse and sheer dupatta. She accessorised with a statement choker and earrings, completing her look with soft, dewy makeup and loose waves, radiating bridal charm.

Ashutosh and Sunita Gowariker recently invited PM Narendra Modi to their son, Konark's wedding with Niyati Kanakia. While he graciously accepted, his attendance is not known. Many Bollywood and corporate elites attended also the star-studded celebration.
