The NCB zonal director, Sameer Wankhede, is the man, who is investigating the high-profile cruise drug case, which also involves Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan. Since the day he has taken up the case, he has been under the radar of a lot of controversies and is garnering a lot of limelight in the media. When he had started investigating the case, it was his actress-wife, Kranti Redkar, who had acted as a rock-solid support for him and had expressed that she was proud of her husband.
In the past few weeks, Sameer Wankhede has been facing a lot of hatred after the reports of him demanding bribery in Aryan Khan's case had surfaced online. And then, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra minister, Nawab Malik, had brought some shocking accusations against Wankhede. However, what triggered his wife, Kranti Redkar was Malik's attack on the NCB officer's personal life. The Marathi actress came out in the open and sought help from the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray.

In her letter to Uddhav Thackeray, Kranti shared that since her childhood, she has grown up knowing that Shiv Sena fights for the justice of the people. She wrote:
''Honorable Uddhav Ji, I grew up a Marathi girl in view of Shiv Sena fighting for the justice of Marathi man since childhood. Learned from Balasaheb Thackeray and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj that do not do injustice to anyone, do not tolerate injustice on yourself. I have full faith that's why as a Marathi person, today I am looking at you with expectation, requesting you to do justice.''
Going further, Kranti Redkar reacted to the accusations brought forward by Nawab Malik and slammed him for attacking a woman and her family just for the sake of politics. She added:
''He (Balasaheb) is not here today but you are. We see him in you, we trust you. I believe that you will not allow injustice to my family and me. As a Marathi, I look towards you with hopes of justice. I don't think it's true. There is so much noise being made that he is targeting celebrities. There may be 2 to 3 per cent cases related to celebrities rest of 95 per cent cases are related to drug peddlers."

Kranti Redkar further added that her husband, Sameer Wankhede, does not belong to any political party. Therefore, people should clear their minds if they think that he is favouring any particular party. Her note can be read as:
''I don't think Sameer is in connection with any political party. He belongs to the central government and works neutrally. If any party believes or feel that Sameer is working in the favour of any political party then such people need to clear up their mind".
In an earlier interview with ETimes, Kranti Redkar had opened up about her husband, Sameer Wankhede’s strict work ethics and had expressed how proud she was of him. Talking about the same, she had said:
''Sameer has always been a hard worker. His operations and cases were there even before too. Today, he is dealing with Bollywood-related drug probe cases, which is why it is getting highlighted. I give him his space when he is investigating or working on operations.”
