'Superstar' Krishna Garu, aka Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, was a prominent face in Tollywood. With more than 350 films to his credit, he was regarded as one of the top actors of his time. Well, not just a brilliant actor, Krishna was also a successful director and producer. He was also honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2009. For the unversed, the late actor was last seen on screen in the 2016 Telugu film, Sri Sri.
Legendary actor, Krishna passed away on November 15, 2022, at around 4 am, leaving a huge void in the Indian film industry. As per the reports, the mortal remains of the late actor will be kept at the Gachibowli Stadium from 5 pm for his fans to visit and pay their respect. For the unversed, Krishna Garu had suffered a cardiac arrest on November 14, 2022, and was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, he died a day after being kept on a ventilator.

Krishna Garu's untimely demise has left the Telugu film fraternity in a heartbroken state, and Twitter is filled with many condolence messages for the late actor's family. Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu’s family has started preparing for Krishna Garu’s last rites at the late actor’s residence in Nanankramguda, Hyderabad. Many stars from the Telugu industry visited the late actor's abode to pay their last respects.
In a video doing rounds on the internet, an emotional Mahesh Babu was seen meeting many guests who came to offer their last respects. However, when Mahesh hugged a mourner, he couldn't stop his tears and was seen breaking down. The visuals showing the devasted state of the actor were heartwrenching, as Mahesh lost his Superstar father within two months of his mother's demise.

A few moments back, Mahesh Babu and his wife, Namrata Shirodkar, along with the rest of the Ghattamaneni family, mourned the death of the veteran actor, Krishna Garu. Taking to the official Twitter handle of GMB Entertainment, the family issued the first statement after the actor's death. The emotional note can be read as:
"It is with the deepest grief that we inform you of the passing of our dearest Krishna garu. He was a superstar in so many ways beyond the movie screen... guided by love, humility and compassion. He will live on through his work, through us, and the many lives he influenced. He loved us more than anything and we will miss him more with each passing day... but as they say, goodbyes aren't forever. Until we meet again... - THE GHATTAMANENI FAMILY."
