Kristi Noem Began Humiliating Her Husband, Bryon Noem Long Before Her Affair With Cory Lewandowski

Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, is currently leading the headlines as she was recently fired following her alleged extramarital affair with political adviser, Corey Lewandowski. Though Kristi has refuted the rumours, there is a plethora of evidence of the affair between Kristi and Cory. It is a testing time for Kriti’s husband, Bryon Noem, but he has still maintained his silence over the matter.

Kristi’s recent public scrutiny over her affair with Corey Lewandowski is definitely an embarrassing situation for her husband, Bryon. But this is not the first time that she has embarrassed him publicly. When Kristi was nominated as South Dakota's first female governor in 2018, it made Bryon the state's first-ever first gentleman. 

As per tradition, the wives of South Dakota governors have had special dolls made in their honour, called first-spouse dolls. They are made to wear dresses which were once worn by the first ladies they represent. And since Bryon was the first gentleman, his first spouse doll was supposed to be dressed in a tuxedo suit. But he didn’t want to give away his favourite suit. However, Kristi took a dig at Bryon and narrated the episode to Capitol Journal. Revealing how she reacted to him, Kriti recalled:

“Oh my goodness Bryon, they aren't going to take your actual suit. They're going to make a replica of it, like a doll size."

Bryon Noem revealed that becoming South Dakota's first gentleman felt odd

Kristi Noem began her political career in the South Dakota House of Representatives, serving from 2007 to 2011. But when she was elected as the first female governor of South Dakota in 2018, her husband, Bryon, knew things would change for them. Though he became the first gentleman, it felt odd to him as Bryon felt that Kristi’s position would change their relationship with him. Talking about the same to Black Hills Pioneer, Bryon revealed:

“This decision was made together, and we knew things would look different if she won.”

Bryon was right about the changing dynamics in their relationship, but he hardly realised that he would have to face humiliation. From being potentially and publicly talked down to by Kristi herself to being caught in the middle of her affair rumours, all these speculations led to the alleged fall of their marriage.

Kriti Noem and Corey Lewandowski’s affair rumours

In 2019, Kriti Noem was the Governor of South Dakota, and Corey Lewandowski was one of her advisors. The duo spent a lot of time together, attending political engagements. Soon rumours of their affair began to spread, and during their political rallies, many people even observed their questionable behaviour.

There had been a lot of rumours about Kriti’s ‘open-secret’ affair. But all hell broke loose when she was directly questioned about the same during a House Judiciary Committee hearing. During the testimony, Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-Calif.) asked Noem directly about her extramarital affair, but she didn’t give any direct response to the question. Instead of straightaway refusing the allegations with a ‘no’, she instead dismissed the question as ‘tabloid garbage.” During the testimony, Kriti’s husband, Bryon, was also seated just behind her. But left the room right before the question about her affair was asked.
