At that time, American Greatness cited individuals who confirmed that Kristi and Cory were having an affair with each other. As soon as the rumours made into the headlines, Kristi refuted the claims in a since-deleted post on X and penned:

“These rumors are total garbage and a disgusting lie. I love Bryon. I'm proud of the God-fearing family we've raised together."

Despite the repeated questions, Noem refused to deny the alleged affair with Corey Lewandowski. Kamlager-Dove emphasised that, since Noem’s job is to protect the country. Her alleged affair could be a possible threat to national security. Slamming the allegations, Kristi stated:

“I am shocked that we're going down and peddling tabloid garbage in this committee today...This is what you [liberal lefts] do. You say conservative women are stupid or sl*ts. I am neither."
