She said that after completing Bareilly Ki Barfi shoot, she did not shoot anything for 15 months straight as she was not getting good scripts. Moreover, she was worried about the fact that people might forget her. Hence, Kriti decided to shoot a film, which she wasn’t hundred per cent sure of. The host asked if she was insecure back then. Talking about how she was more frustrated than being insecure, Kriti shared her two cents on nepotism and said:

“Actually, I was not so insecure, I was more frustrated because when you don't come from a film background, it takes a longer time for people to even know you, for you to get certain kinds of opportunities that you want and sometimes you see other people who have just come in or who belong to a film background who have people who are backing them, they're getting it so easily. I think in my head I'm better than this person, but I'm not getting this opportunity, and I can't show that. So, I feel like there was a point in my life where there was a little frustration of just not getting what I really wanted, like not getting that opportunity to sink my teeth in.”

Further, Kriti added that there have been so many people who came from filmy backgrounds, got the best opportunities but still failed to leave a mark on the audience. In her words:

“More important Talent, you will take longer, and you might get it. Only on the basis of marketing and you don't have talent, you can fool the audience once or twice but then not more than that. I don't think the audience is that dumb, I consider the audience very very intelligent, if they don't like someone's acting there are so many people who have come from filmy backgrounds, and gotten the best opportunities but are not as successful and eventually it boils down to talent.”
