Khushi Kapoor is the youngest daughter of veteran actress, Sridevi and film producer, Aamir Khan. She is one of the most promising young actresses in Bollywood, and everyone is excited to see more of her work. After making her acting debut, she is all set to make her theatrical debut with her upcoming film, Loveyapa. As the young actress is going around the country to promote her film, she has answered several interesting questions that people had for her. Amid other revelations, Khushi Kapoor opened up about how she feels about carrying forward her mother's legacy.
Khushi Kapoor has a distinct personality herself. However, people often compare her with her mother and late veteran actress, Sridevi, and feel that her daughter will continue her mother's legacy. Talking about the same, Khushi, in an interview with Times Of India, mentioned that she understands the expectations of people from her, considering their love for her mother. However, she feels that no one can do it, and neither intends to match her mother's great legacy. She explained:
"I understand why people want to compare us, but I believe I need to carve my own path and find my footing without getting caught up in all the noise. My mother's legacy is unmatched, and I wouldn't even try to reach that level."
Khushi asserted that all she can do is focus on doing her best at acting and whatever she does. At the same time, she hopes that the audience and everyone else can appreciate her work. Khushi also shared that she has her distinct views, but she prefers to have her father, Boney Kapoor, and elder sister, Janhvi Kapoor on board with her decision to do a film. The young actress admits that having her father and sister agree with her makes her feel better about her decision.
Sridevi has worked in more than 300 films in different languages, like Mr. India, Chaalbaaz, Chandini, Judaai, etc, and audiences loved them. However, in an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Khushi Kapoor who shared a close bond with Sridevi shared that she was not allowed to watch most of her mother's films because her mother felt shy about it. Consequently, Khushi and her Janhvi used to secretly watch her movies in a room away from others. Moreover, her mother, Sridevi's film, Sadma is closest to Khushi's heart. Recalling the memory, she said:
"We used to watch her films secretly, and I've seen many of them. But all of it was done secretly, as she didn't want us to see them."
Khushi Kapoor worked in a few short films before making her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar's The Archies, co-starring Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Vedang Raina. She is gearing up for the release of her next film, Loveyapa, co-starring Junaid Khan. The film is directed by Advait Chandan and will be released on February 7, 2025. As per IMDb, the actress also has an untitled film with Ibrahim Ali Khan in the pipeline.
