Summer House's Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula have shared years of highs and lows in their relationship. But recently they confirmed that they are going their separate ways. For those unaware, the couple had announced their mutual separation a few days ago, on January 19, 2026. They called it a "mutual and amicable" end of their relationship. But as fans process the news, several netizens have questioned whether Kyle's well-known business debt will play a role in his divorce.

What did Kyle Cooke say about his debt and divorce possibility?

Kyle Cooke sat down for a street interview with podcaster, Adam Glyn and addressed concerns about his financial situation following his separation from his wife, Amanda Batula. In a now-published TikTok video on January 22, 2026, Kyle was asked if he was worried that his wife could end up getting some of his debt if they sought a divorce. Sharing his views about the same, Kyle said:

"I've seen a bunch of videos pop up, talking about divorce and the financial implications. I don't think many people really understand the intricacies of my business to begin with. Is there debt? Yeah, I took a small business loan."

Further, he explained that although he has no idea what might happen in the future with him and Amanda, they will not go for a messy, expensive divorce. Instead, he highlighted that he hopes they are happy, regardless of what happens in their future. The host also pointed out that the pair have currently separated, but they have made no plans for a legal divorce. The discussion about their finances has gained more attention because the couple did not sign a prenup before their wedding in September 2021. On the other hand, Amanda opened up about her regret on not having a prenup on The Trading Secrets podcast and said:

"I messed up my major. Everyone should get a prenup. Hear it from the girl that didn't get one."

Where did Kyle Cooke's debt come from? 

Kyle Cooke's financial situation is not new to viewers of Summer House. Earlier, in a 2022 episode (filmed in 2021), the 43-year-old revealed that he had USD 4 million in debt from a loan he took for his beverage company, Loverboy, founded in 2018. Later, he clarified to US Weekly that he did not plan to share his legal and financial struggles on the show. But, he was simply overwhelmed at the time. In his words:

"I'm in a lawsuit. I've spent USD 200,000 on legal fees this month. I'm USD 4 million in debt with the loan for my business. Everything is on the line."

What caused Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula's separation?

Although Kyle Cooke's financial situation is a hot topic following his separation confirmation, his split from Amanda is primarily due to their compatibility issues. According to US Weekly, sources close to the couple revealed that the couple had been "on completely different wavelengths" for months. Gradually, the tension between them increased after Kyle's new career as a DJ kept him out late. 

On the other hand, Amanda wanted a calm and more settled life. Overall, their trust issues, lifestyle differences, and disagreements about starting a family added more strain to their marriage. Consequently, they reportedly lived separately for two months before making the announcement public. Despite everything  they contine to be on 'amicable' terms.
