Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, After Smriti Irani, Sakshi Tanwar Makes Comeback As 'Parvati'

Ekta Kapoor made headlines when she decided to re-launch her superhit television serial, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The second instalment of the show helped Smriti Irani make a comeback as 'Tulsi'. And the first day of the show's telecast left many families emotional, even those who were kids when they watched it with their parents. Now, after Smriti Irani, Sakshi Tanwar is all set to return as 'Parvati'.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has grabbed second place after Anupamaa on the TRP charts. And it seems that to take the lead, the creators are leaving no stone unturned. And Sakshi Tanwar, who rose to fame as 'Parvati', is all set to make a comeback with her on-screen husband, 'Om', played by Kiran Karmarkar from Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki.

Sakshi and Kiran shot for a special episode of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. The two help in reuniting 'Mihir' and 'Tulsi'. However, the announcement of the special episode left the fans super excited, as after so many years, they will see Sakshi and Smriti together on-screen as 'Tulsi' and 'Parvati'. A source revealed:

"Om and Parvati will be introduced in an interesting way. There is a property whose ownership papers are with an Agarwal couple. Mihir (Amar Upadhyay) invites the couple to Shanti Niketan, which is how Parvati and Om make their entry. They are expected to start in the next few days. The couple will appear in a few episodes, and their entry will coincide with a celebration of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii."

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 made a return on small screens on July 29, 2025, at the usual time slot of 10:30 pm on Star Plus. The show has been produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and featured the OG starcast, Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, and Ketki Dave. Some new faces also made their presence felt as the new generation, including Aman Gandhi, Shagun Sharma and Rohit Suchanti. The first season had around 1,833 episodes, which made it the longest-running show of that time. However, Ekta confirmed that it would be a limited number of episodes. 

However, the show even received a lot of criticism. The show's track revealed how 'Pari' manipulated the entire 'Virani family' by telling lies about 'Ajay' and her family. While 'Tulsi' knows the truth and shows her opinion against 'Pari', Mihir doesn't liek it and lashed out as her. In the episode, a toxic side of 'Mihir,' often hailed as Lord Ram, was revealed when he pushed his wife, 'Tulsi', in front of the entire family and left the house. But the audience is not happy with the plotline, and they slammed the makers for fake promises. 

One user at Reddit pointed out the whole plot and how 'Mihir' is the worst husband of Indian television. The user wrote, "This man is pushing his wife, shouting at her, and I’m sure he would have even slapped her if it were the pre covid era. Ironically, he has filed a case and sent his daughter-in-law and her husband to jail for the very same thing, yet now he’s doing it himself with his own wife. And just two days ago, this man was given the "Best Pati" award in SPA? Seriously? At this point, even Vanraj Shah and Armaan Poddar look much better to him. Then they have the audacity to compare him with Lord Ram in every 2nd episode. Please, at least leave our gods out of this mess and stop equating any psycho or mentally unstable character with them."
