The Founder and Ex-Chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Lalit Modi, informed everyone that he is currently on 24x7 oxygen support after he suffered from COVID-19 and severe pneumonia. The businessman shared the news on his Instagram handle after he received a lot of wishes for his speedy recovery. According to Lalit Modi’s Instagram post, he battled against COVID-19 for three weeks and after which he suffered major lung damage because of deep pneumonia and fought against it for the next two weeks.
On January 14, 2023, Lalit Modi took to his Instagram handle and shared a series of pictures featuring his multiple selfies and screengrabs of his medical reports. He also shared a picture of a fingertip pulse oximeter in which we can see the reading 87, which clearly shows how seriously low was his oxygen levels. Along with the pictures, Lalit Modi also penned a long note in the caption. In his note, he thanked his son, Ruchir Modi, for arranging everything to bring him back to London. His note can be read as:
"After 3 weeks in confinement with a double COVID in 2 weeks accompanied by influenza and deep pneumonia - and post trying several times to leave. Finally landed via air ambulance accompanied by two doctors and superstar super efficient son who did so much for me back in London. The flight was smooth. Unfortunately still on 24/7 external oxygen. Thank u to all at @vistajet for going the extra mile. I am extremely grateful to all. Love to all. Big hug."

As soon as Lalit Modi shared the pictures and a note on his Instagram handle, several netizens, celebrities, and entrepreneurs dropped comments on his post. However, it was Lalit Modi’s alleged girlfriend and actress, Sushmita Sen’s brother, Rajeev Sen, who reacted to his Instagram post. The doting brother of the stunning actress penned, "Wishing you a speedy recovery Lalit. Stay Strong", in the comment section of the businessman’s Instagram post.
For the unversed, Sushmita Sen and Lalit Modi’s alleged relationship was one of the most talkative rumoured couples of 2022. It was Lalit Modi, who shared a series of drool-worthy pictures with Sushmita on his Instagram handle, in which they could be seen enjoying themselves on a ship. Soon their marriage reports started doing rounds on the internet. However, Sushmita never confirmed or reacted to her relationship reports with Lalit Modi.

However, soon Sushmita Sen started spotting her ex-boyfriend, Rohman Shawl once again in public after their breakup. Reports were rife that it was the reason why Sushmita’s alleged beau, Lalit Modi distanced himself from the actress and even removed her name from his Instagram bio. Well, it will be interesting to see whether Sushmita will react to her rumoured beau’s pictures from the hospital after her brother, Rajeev, has already reacted to the same.
