During the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar ceremony, Adinath Mangeshkar, who is the son of Hridaynath Mangeshkar and the nephew of the late singer, Lata Mangeshkar revealed that his father had been admitted to the hospital. At the ceremony, the who's who of the Indian music industry were present, which was also attended by the honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Although the real reason behind admitting the 84-year-old musician isn't known, but his son shared that his father is quite stable at the moment. Reflecting on his father's health, Adinath said:
"All these years it was my father, Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar ji, who would deliver the welcome address and give information about our trust. This year he's unable to do so because he's in the hospital currently. By the grace of God, he will be back home in the next 8-10 days. He is stable and doing well."
After the demise of Hridaynath Mangeshkar's doting sister, Lata Mangeshkar, in order to pay a befitting tribute to the legendary singer, the government had proposed that a memorial should be built at the famous Shivaji Park in Mumbai. However, the proposal had received mixed reviews, and people had criticised the Mangeshkar family for their demand of having a statue of Lata Mangeshkar. In a conversation with NDTV, Lata Mangeshkar's brother, Hridaynath had shared his views and thoughts about the same and had explained that his family has nothing to do with the demand for a memorial for the legendary singer. The veteran singer had added:
"Please stop politicising the issue of Lata didi's memorial at Shivaji park. The demand for it has not come from our family as we don't wish for it."

However, according to a Pinkvilla report, it was reported that Hridaynath Mangeshkar had stated that his family is more interested in financing a music school instead of a memorial in Lata tai's honour. The doting brother had further added that they wanted his sister, Lata's legacy, to continue and her musical skills to be kept alive. Hridaynath Mangeshkar had explained:
"Earlier, Aaditya Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray came up with a proposal to Lata Mangeshkar for a musical institute on her name and she gave a nod to it. We want that legacy to continue and her musical skills to be kept alive. If we want to celebrate her legacy we will support the music institute and not the memorial."
We wish Hridaynath Mangeshkar a speedy recovery!
