The 'IT' couple in Bollywood, Saira Banu and the late Dilip Kumar, were indeed an inspiration for many. For the unversed, Saira recently made her debut on Instagram and she has constantly been hitting all the headlines with her social media posts. For those who don't know, Saira met the love of her life, Dilip, when she was just 12 years old. The veteran actress was the biggest fan of her hubby. The duo got married on October 11, 1966, and after a blissful marital life of 55 years, their togetherness came to an end when Dilip Kumar left for his heavenly abode on July 7, 2021. 

Saira Banu shares some unseen pictures of Dilip Kumar along with his Rakhi sister, Lata Mangeshkar

The nation is currently caught up in the festive mood, as Rakhi is being celebrated within every household. On this special occasion, Saira Banu took to her IG handle and shared some unseen photos of her hubby, Dilip Kumar, along with his Rakhi sister and the queen of melody, Lata Mangeshkar. Sharing these spectacular pictures, Saira opened up about the bonding that the two legends, Lataji and Dilip Kumar used to share.

In the very first photo, we can see Lataji looking stunning as she decked up in a white saree. Dilip, on the other hand, can be seen looking dapper in a black tuxedo. In the photo, we can see Dilip placing his hand on Lata's cheeks, and there is no denying the fact that the photo speaks volumes about the bond that the duo used to share. Saira's post also featured a short clip, wherein Lata and Dilip can be seen having a chitchat session, and it was unmissable.

Saira Banu revealed Dilip Kumar helped Lataji to learn Urdu while travelling on a local train

Sharing these unseen pictures, Saira Banu penned a long note, wherein she revealed that Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar used to share a bother-sister bonding. Saira also mentioned that the legendary duo used to travel from their homes to the workplace in local trains, and it was during their travelling times when they used to share their thoughts and experiences and sought each other’s advice. Speaking along the same lines, Saira Banu stated it was during one such journey when Dilip Kumar helped his Rakhi sister Lataji to learn Urdu. Later, Lataji, being an obedient sister, took the help of an Urdu tutor and aced in the language. An excerpt from Saira's note can be read as:

"It was at one such journey that Sahib guided Lataji on how much the heart of Urdu lies in its flawless pronunciation and how something as simple as a Nukta adds a beautiful addition to words. Sahib emphasised that one must own the spoken languages with mastery. Lataji, an obedient sister in every sense, worked upon his advice and sought an Urdu tutor’s assistance. Since then, the world bore witness to her flawless pronunciation in her songs."

Saira Banu shares Lata Mangeshkar used to tie Rakhi to Dilip Kumar every year

In her long caption, Saira Banu also mentioned that Lata Mangeshkar and Dilip Kumar used to meet each other on Rakhi, and they unfailingly followed this ritual year after year. Saira also stated that she used to send Lataji a brocade saree for her sweet gesture. Saira Banu stated:

"Despite being busy with work or travel or any personal commitments, they both would find a way to meet each other on Rakshabandhan and Lataji would tie the sacred Rakhi on Sahib’s hand. To my delight they both unfailingly followed this ritual year after year and I in return to this beautiful gesture sent her a brocade sari to her taste each time!"

Further, in her long note, Saira Banu talked about Dilip Kumar introducing his choti si behen, Lataji at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London. In the concluding segment of her Note, Saira Banu revealed that the bond between Dilip Kumar and Lataji remained through thick to thin. Speaking along the same lines, Saira mentioned that Lataji often used to come to their house and even had dinner together. Speaking about the last picture of her recent post, Saira mentioned it was the last time Lataji came to their house and lovingly fed Dilip with her own hands.
