Dev Anand was one of the gems of the Indian cinema, who gave the film industry a never-seen-before change of epoch. The actor was known for his charming looks and brilliant acting mettle, which won him innumerable accolades and love from the fans. Some of the classic films of the actor include Guide, Johny Mera Naam, Jewel Thief, Gambler, Heera Panna among so many others. Talking about the actor’s personal life, Dev Anand got married to actress, Kalpana Kartik in 1954. The duo was blessed with a son, Suniel and a daughter, Devina. In 2011, Dev Anand passed away in London at the age of 88.
As per a latest report in the Hindustan Times, Dev Anand’s iconic bungalow in Mumbai, located in the posh suburbs of Juhu, has been sold. This was the house where the actor had spent nearly 40 years of his life, especially during the golden period of his personal life, along with his wife and children. The bungalow has been sold to a real estate company, with whom the deal is done and only miniscule paper work remains. Being situated in one of the prime locations of the city, the bungalow has apparently fetched a massive sale value of Rs.350- Rs.400 crores. Moreover, the report further stated that after the bungalow gets demolished, a new 22-storeyed tower would replace it. The report can be quoted as:
“Dev Anand’s Juhu bungalow has been sold to a real estate company. The deal is also done and paperwork is going on. It has been sold for approximately Rs.350-400 crores as it’s a prime location with bungalows of prominent industrialists in the locality. The place will now be replaced by a 22 floors long tower.”

Moving further in the report by the Hindustan Times, a source closer to the late actor’s family has also cited the reason behind the massive property being sold. The decision was taken consciously by the late actor’s wife, and his children, since there was no one to look after it and carry out its maintenance. Moreover, the report stated that a few other properties of the late actor, including one of his studios, have already been sold long back, and the money received from all these sale has been distributed equally between Dev Anand’s wife, Kalpana Kartik and both their children, Suniel and Devina. The report stated:
“His son Suniel stays is US whereas daughter Devina lives in Ooty along with mother Kalpana Kartik. There is no one in Mumbai to take care of the property and hence they have taken the decision to sell off the bungalow. In fact, they had also sold some property in Panvel, Maharashtra for the same reason, One was given to Suniel, another to Devina and third to his wife Kalpana. So for the Juhu property also, everyone will get the share.
