'Law And Order: SVU' Star, Ice-T Didn't Have A Choice In Reduced Screentime In Season 27, 'Am Not..'

Law and Order: SVU Season 27 came back with several returns, new additions, and twists. However, if the fans didn't expect one thing, it was Ice-T almost disappearing from Season 27. Nonetheless, there is nothing for the fans to worry about, as the star himself has now addressed his absence and revealed whether he will be returning anytime soon.

Law and Order: SVU Season 27 saw some massive changes, especially with the return of 'Amanda Rollins'. However, if there was one thing missing, it was 'Sergeant Fin Tutuola'. While he didn't completely disappear, he's hardly been in three episodes of the show so far. The change led fans to worry that the actor was saying goodbye to the show.

Now, in a conversation with TMZ, Ice-T has reflected on the same and revealed that his absence from Law and Order: SVU Season 27 is all business. The show was having budgeting issues, so they decided to scale back his character. Reflecting on the same, he stated:

"It's just basically business. They brought Kelli (Amanda Rollins) back, and at the end of the day, they couldn't keep both of us on full-time, as far as budget-wise. They said, 'Ice, we'll have you come in and out this year.' Everybody wanted Kelli back. We've got new cops. I am not leaving the show. I am more concerned with going to Season 28. This year, they said, 'Ice, we're going to work you a little less.' Everything was cool with me. I understood."

In the same conversation, Ice-T also reflected on how the news impacted him. Ice-T was quoted as saying:

"I said, 'Are you getting rid of me?' They said, 'No way. We can't imagine Law & Order without you.'"

The actor revealed that he is happy that Law and Order: SVU fans are upset that he is not part of Season 27. The rapper reflected on this and added that if no one had noticed, it would've been far worse. He was quoted as saying:

"I've been on this show for 27 years. I am not going to say anything negative about this show. They have taken care of me for so long. I just want to get to Season 28. It's given me more time, so I've had a chance to do other projects and do other things. I am glad the fans are upset. What if I were missing and nobody cared? That would be something to worry about. But the fact that the fans wanted to see a little bit more of Fin—that's good. I will be sprinkled throughout this season."
