The answer is simple, as Lori's legal team has to challenge her decades-old prenuptial agreements that could limit her access to the couple's USD 80 million fortune.

Yes, according to the buzz, Lori and Mossimo Giannulli, if they get divorced, she might not get anything from him due to their prenup agreement. According to TMZ, a source revealed that Lori signed a prenup agreement when she married Mossimo in 1997. The legal document stated that their assets are separate property, a provision which the fashion designer insisted on before tying the knot. 

Back during the time of their wedding, Mossimo's net worth of USD 100 million. If the 1997 prenup is still valid and enforceable, it could prevent Lori from claiming anything from the initial USD 100 million fortune, as well as the value gained during their entire course of marriage. 

Why did Lori Loughlin part ways with Mossimo Giannulli

According to reports, Lori and Mossimo parted ways after the 60-year-old actress found some shocking and 'incriminating' texts and emails on his phone. A source close to Lori revealed while talking to Page Six. The source revealed that Mossimo has used Lori for years. And she hoped that he would change after he got out of prison, but things turned worse. The source was quoted as saying:

"Truly, the tipping point came when Lori found a bunch of text messages. Mossimo had used Lori for years. She was hoping maybe he would change when he got out of prison, but he got worse."

Lori's representative confirmed that they have not yet proceeded with the legal filing. In other words, the couple might also try to work things out, as they are parents to two grown-up daughters. However, as of now, they are living apart and taking a break from their marriage. But Lori and Mossimo have been facing a tough time in their personal lives.

It is worth mentioning that Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli's lives have not been easy. Five years ago, they were involved in the 2019 Varsity Blues College admissions scandal. They both served prison time when they were found guilty. The federation accused Loughlin and Giannulli of paying USD 500,000 for the college admission of their daughter, Olivia Jade.

They paid the amount to Rick Singer to get her into the University of Southern California, despite not having any experience in the sport. They both confessed that they had committed the fraud. Lori got a two-month jail term while Mossimo got five months of imprisonment. 

According to reports, it was the main reason that shook their marriage. The legal ordeal and the embarrassment killed their relationship and tore the family apart. Sources close to the fashion designer accepted that their relationship was fine before the legal scandal, and Mossimo has been putting the blame for it all on his wife.
