Madhuri Dixit and Dr Shriram Nene's love story is quite unconventional. She was the reigning queen of Bollywood in the '80s and '90s, who had mesmerised everyone with her acting and dancing. On the other hand, Shriram was completely unaware of her star status. At the peak of her career, Madhuri had left everything to get married to Shriram and had settled in the US.
It was at her brother’s request that Madhuri had met Dr Nene. As destiny would have it, the two had become friends after several meetings and had eventually fallen in love. Madhuri had broken many hearts when she had tied the knot with Shriram on October 17, 1999.

When Madhuri had appeared on the chat show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, the gorgeous actress had revealed how her husband had no idea that she was a big star in India as he had not watched too many Bollywood films. Revealing how she and his mom had tried to make him watch a few of her films, Madhuri had retorted:
"Me and his mom kind of tried to show him one of my films and say, ‘Look at this song.’ And he is like, ‘Can’t we do something else? Let’s go out and do something’."
Madhuri had further stated that the only person her husband, Shriram, had recognised at their wedding reception was Mr Amitabh Bachchan. Talking about the same, she had stated:
"I think the only star he recognised at our reception was Mr Amitabh Bachchan. He had seen his film when he was in school and that was Amar Akbar Anthony. He was like, ‘I think I know that face.’ I was like, ‘Yes, you know him because of that film’."

To mark their 22nd marriage anniversary on October 17, 2021, Dr Nene had taken to his IG handle and had shared a Reel video, compiling their photos along with their sons and their pet dog. Sharing the video, he had penned a beautiful note for his wife. The caption could be read as:
"Time flies when you’re having fun and that’s exactly how I feel about the 22 beautiful years that I’ve spent with you. Home is wherever you are and I’m so grateful for the amazing life and home that we have built together. Happy Anniversary to the most beautiful woman in the universe both inside and out, my soulmate, my MD, and my better half, here’s to many great years ahead.”
Madhuri and Shriram are blessed with two adorable kids, Arin and Ryan.
