Bollywood's dhak-dhak girl, Madhuri Dixit, is hailed as the most gorgeous actress ever. Everyone dreams of becoming Madhuri, and in the '90s and early 2000s, every girl grooved on her super hit songs. However, she left the showbiz after getting married to Dr. Shriram Nene. While many thought Madhuri would tie the knot with an actor, she surprised the nation. After living a fantastic life away from India in the US, Madhuri returned to her homeland in 2011. Recently, at the 54th International Film Festival of India, in Goa, Madhuri was awarded the 'Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema' Award.
Apart from getting appreciated for work in the field of arts and cinema, reports are rife that Madhuri's husband, Shriram Nene, might also make his acting debut. It all started at the IFFI stage when Madhuri expressed her gratitude for receiving the honour. She also talked about her home production film, Panchak. During the same event, Madhuri was asked whether her husband, Dr Nene, plans to join movies. Madhuri said:

Salman and Madhuri's jodi were loved by millions, but the latter denied working with him in Hum Saath Saath Hain. In an old interview with Rediff.com, Madhuri shared that she didn't want to portray the bhabhi-dewar role with Salman, as she had romanced him in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. She revealed that Salman had touched his bhabhi, Sadhana's (played by Tabu) feet in a scene. Madhuri was sure that people would not like them to play the devar-bhabhi role.

However, Sooraj Barjatiya was eager to work with Madhuri in the film, Hum Saath Saath Hain, but the latter didn't want to play a more minor role after the success of Hum Apke Hain Kaun. After much discussion, Sooraj dropped the idea of casting Madhuri in the film. The actress was quoted as saying:
"There is a scene in the film where Salman touches Tabu’s feet and he hugs Tabu. So there has to be this bhabhi-devar feeling between the two. But if you put me in Tabu’s place and visualize Salman touching my feet, I think people would have hooted in the theatres. I think its right, because of HAHK, which was a love story between Salman and me."
On the work front, Madhuri Dixit recently appeared in the web series, The Fame Game!
