Mahhi Vij And Jay Bhanushali Confirm Divorce After 14 Years And Three Kids, 'Peace Over Drama...'

Mahhi Vij, who restarted her career with Sehar Hone Ko Hai, has been hogging the headlines. Amid praise for her role as an adult mother, Mahhi announced her divorce. The actress was married to Jay Bhanushali for 16 years. Recently, the couple announced their separation, leaving everyone in shock.

On January 4, 2026, Mahhi and Jay took to their social media handle, Instagram, and shared a joint post. They announced their divorce. In the long note, Mahhi and Jay confirmed that they have chosen to part ways in the journey called life, yet they have each other's backs. Mahhi and Jay further affirmed that for the sake of their three children, they commit to being the best parents and best friends. The statement can be read as:

"Today we choose to part ways on a journey called life, yet we continue to have each other's back. Peace, growth, kindness and humanity have always been our guiding values. For the sake of our children - Tara, Khushi, Rajveer, we commit to being the best parents, the best friends and whatever else it takes to do what is right for them."

Jay and Mahhi further clarified in their statement that while they chose to part ways, there is no villain involved, and the decision is not made out of negativity. They added that before anyone tries to draw a conclusion, they chose peace over drama. They continue to respect each other. 

"Though we walk separate paths, there is no villain in this story and no negativity attached to this decision. Before any conclusions are drawn, please know that we choose peace over drama and sanity above all else. We continue to respect one another, support one another and remain friends as we always have been with mutual respect. We ask for your respect, love and kindness as we move forward."

Mahhi Vij won't take alimony from Jay Bhanushali

A while ago, a close friend of Mahhi spoke to The Times of India and revealed that Mahhi is not going to seek alimony from Jay. She genuinely wants him to grow in his life. She doesn't want him to suffer and be in pain due to the divorce. The two still share a great bond and want the best for each other. Jay also has immense respect for Mahhi, and they do not want to end their relationship on a sour note with blame games and ugly revelations. In fact, for Mahhi, it is the person who matters and not his money. The source said:

"Mahhi will not ask for alimony; she genuinely wants Jay to grow in life. She would never put him through any pain. Both of them share a good bond and have immense respect for each other. Jay has immense respect for Mahhi, and the feeling is mutual.
