Amid the speculations about her divorce from Jay Bhanushali, a few months back, Mahhi Vij took to her YouTube and dropped a vlog, wherein she talked about the same. She urged people not to believe in anything unless she would come forward to say anything. Mahhi further asked people to respect her and Jay's privacy along with their kids, while tagging her then-husband as a great father and a wonderful human being. 

In the same vlog, she also addressed the buzz about her taking Rs. 5 crore alimony. Mahhi dismissed the buzz and stated that she doesn't even have an idea about what alimony is, while adding that if someone wants to take care of her with love, or if she's a housewife, then it's understandable, but it doesn't make sense if a woman is financially independent and is making her own money. Mahhi could be quoted as saying:

"I am talking as a woman. I think it is not our right. It is earned by him, and it is his money. If someone wants to take care of you with love, then well and good. But it is permissible for women who are housewives. Women who have no work and have never gone to work, it is permissible for them. But you can work. I think you should get up, work and earn for yourself. Because when the paths separate, you should earn for yourself."

Mahhi Vij decided not to take any alimony from Jay Bhanushali

On January 4, 2026, Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali took to their social media handles and shared a joint statement, wherein the duo revealed that they have decided to end their journey together, but they will be their kids' best friends and will be completely committed to Tara, Khushi, and Rajveer. Jay and Mahhi further added that there was no villain involved in this situation, and the decision was not made from any negativity.

Amid the couple announcing their divorce, a close friend of Mahhi spoke to TOI, and mentioned that the actress won't take any alimony from Jay, as she wants him to grow genuinely in his life. Mahhi's friend also added that the couple has respect for each other. As per the source, the couple doesn't feel that their relationship should end on a bitter note, just because their wedding did.
