Mahhi Vij Shares Cryptic Note On 'Being A Good Person' After Divorce Announcement, 'Never Stop...'

Popular TV couple, Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali, are currently hogging the limelight after announcing their divorce after nearly 16 years of marriage. According to multiple reports, the duo got married secretly in 2010 and later confirmed it on November 11, 2011. The couple shares three children, Tara, Khushi and Rajveer. On January 4, 2026, Jay took to his Instagram Stories and shared a collaborative post with his ex-wife, Mahhi. Amid this, the TV actress shared a cryptic note.

A while ago, Mahhi Vij took to her Instagram Stories and shared a cryptic note on 'being a good person'. Amid the divorce announcement, she changed her Insta bio to 'Fighter'. The cryptic note mentioned that a person should never stop being good. The note shared by Mahhi can be read as:

"Be the reason why people believe in beautiful souls, kind hearts, and good energy never stop being a good person."

On January 4, 2026, Jay Bhanushali took to his Instagram Stories to share a joint post along with his estranged wife, Mahhi Vij. He mentioned that they have chosen to part ways. However, they will continue to support each other. He highlighted that for their children, they will remain the best parents and best friends. He wrote: 

"Today, we choose to part ways on a journey called life, yet we continue to have each other’s back. Peace, growth, kindness, and humanity have always been our guiding values. For the sake of our children - Tara, Khushi, Rajveer, we commit to being the best parents, the best friends, and whatever else it takes to do what is right for them."

Further in the note, Jay shared that there was no villain in their story, and no negativity was linked to their separation. He mentioned that they chose peace over drama and sanity. He added that they will continue to respect and support each other. He wrote:

"Though we walk separate paths, there is no villain in this story and no negativity attached to this decision. Before any conclusions are drawn, please know that we choose peace over drama and sanity above all else. We continue to respect one another, support one another and remain friends as we always have been with mutual respect. We ask for your respect, love and kindness as we move forward.- Mahhi Vij & Jay Bhanushali."

Jay Bhanusali and Mahhi Vij rose to fame with their performance on the dance reality show, Nach Baliye 5. They emerged as the winners of the show. Coming to their personal life, the couple tied the knot in 2010 and kept it a secret until Mahhi Vij was spotted sporting a mangalsutra at a party. After dating for three months, Jay proposed to Mahhi on December 31, 2009. On November 11, 2011, the couple confirmed their marriage. Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali welcomed their first child, Tara, through IVF. They are also foster parents to Khushi and Rajveer.

However, after nearly 16 years of marital bliss, Jay and Mahhi decided to part ways. Ever since the buzz surrounding their divorce surfaced online, speculations began that Mahhi will reportedly take a huge alimony from her ex-husband, Jay. In November 2025, a close friend of Mahhi told Times of India TV that the actress will not take any alimony and that she genuinely wants Jay to grow. She was quoted as saying:

"Mahhi will not ask for alimony; she genuinely wants Jay to grow in life. She would never put him through any pain. Both of them share a good bond and have immense respect for each other. Jay has immense respect for Mahhi, and the feeling is mutual. Their bond is beautiful, and we hope more people understand that relationships don’t have to end on a bitter note just because a marriage does. For Mahhi, what matters is the person, not his money."
