Mahira Khan is a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry, thanks to her divine beauty, acting prowess, and bold personality. The actress gained widespread popularity in India when her drama, Humsafar, was released in India and became an instant hit. So much so that Mahira Khan bagged the role of the female protagonist in the mainstream Bollywood movie, Raees.
Mahira was cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and it was a big deal to be working opposite the King Khan of Bollywood, that too in her first-ever Bollywood gig. On the personal front, Mahira tied the knot in October 2023 to the love of her life, Salim Karim. Professionally, it is also speculated that Mahira Khan will soon appear in a Malayalam film opposite Mohanlal.

In an interview with Hassan Chaudhury, Mahira Khan revealed that she could bag Raees because of the success of her drama, Humsafar. She elaborated that after the drama was released in India 4 years after its Pakistani release, it became a blockbuster in India. At that time, she had a visa to India, so she was called to promote the film, and on that trip, she got Raees' offer.
Mahira Khan divulged that the makers of Raees had seen her work in Humsafar and liked her there. Shah Rukh Khan's mother-in-law, Savita Chhibber, pitched her name to the megastar, who then extended the offer to Mahira. She added that many people auditioned for the role but only Mahira had the privilege to get access to the script beforehand.

On the professional front, Mahira Khan has a lot of projects lined up. In December 2023, Mahira's film, Neelofar, was released, which was an Ammar Rasool directorial opposite Pakistani heartthrob, Fawad Khan. Apart from this, she, along with Fawad Khan, Iqra Aziz, Sanam Saeed and Hania Aamir, are cast in Pakistan's first-ever Netflix original series, Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo. Apart from this, Mahira is also rumoured to make a comeback in India with a Malayalam film opposite Mohanlal.
