Married 2 Days Ago, Man Dies In Air India Crash, Father Recalls Last Words 'Told Me Not To Worry..'

The tragic Air India plane crash, which occurred shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad's international airport, has done more harm than just claiming more than 265 lives. It has left behind heartbroken families, destroyed futures, and has left their loved ones in mourning. Behind the total number of lives taken away by the incident, there were dreams shattered and the lives of their family members, which are now left altered forever. One such heartbreaking story is about 26-year-old Bhavik Maheshwari, who used to work in the UK and tied the knot just days before rejoining his duty at the office. 

Bhavik Maheshwari tied the knot just two days ago before his untimely demise in the Ahmedabad plane crash 

Before the shattering plane crash took place, Bhavik Maheshwari came from London to his home for a short vacation with his family. His family was overjoyed at his return and spent happy moments with him. They also suggested to him that he should get married before going back to the UK and arranged a marital alliance for him. When other things fell into place, he had a simple court wedding on June 10, 2025, in the presence of close friends and family members, just two days before his untimely demise in the Air India plane crash. His teary-eyed father, Arjun Maheshwari, told the reporters:

"During his trip to his hometown, we arranged his marriage."

Bhavik's family had even decided that they would have a grand celebration when he would return the next time from the UK. His newlywed bride accompanied Bhavik to Ahmedabad airport from where he boarded the ill-fated plane to London Gatwick. However, before she could reach home after dropping him off, they got the news of the horrific tragedy, which left everyone in shock. A relative said:

"She had not even reached home when the message came that the plane had crashed. It was as if a mountain of grief fell on us."

Bhavik Maheshwari's father recalled his last words just 30 minutes before the incident 

Bhavik Maheshwari's family in Vadodara's Vadi area has been grief-stricken since the news of his plane crash arrived. A relative shared that Bhavik had been living in London for the past few years and came home for 15 days every year to spend time with his family. Recalling his son's last words, his father said:

"He called me to say that everything was done, and he was ready for take-off. He asked me not to worry as he was going home. He had completed his studies and was working in London. After half an hour, nobody could make any sense of what happened."

What is the latest update on the Air India plane crash incident?

The nation came to a halt on June 12, 2025 when Air India's AI171 flight which was scheduled from Ahmedabad to London took off around 1:30 pm. While trying to reach the expected altitude, it began to descend and crashed into a nearby doctor's hostel. It claimed the lives of 241 passengers from different countries and 12 crew members on board except one. At the same time, the flames caused by the blast of the crash, engulfed the whole place and claimed more lives. The TATA Group has announced compensation and the injured are being treated at the hospital. Meanwhile, investigation agencies from the US, UK, and India and of the aircraft, Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner have begun investigation. The black box of the place has also been retrieved, which could help understand what went wrong.
