Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, the action-comedy entertainer starring Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Nayanthara, Catherine Tresa and more, was released theatrically on January 12, 2026. The film, made on a budget of Rs. 200 crore, is a massive success at the box office. After a successful theatrical run, the film is gearing up for its OTT release. For the unversed, Chiranjeevi has returned to the big screens after a three-year hiatus with the film, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.

Chiranjeevi has stepped in as the NIA officer in the film, and Nayanthara plays his love interest. According to the latest reports, the action-comedy film is scheduled to release on February 11, 2026, on ZEE5. The film will be available in multiple languages, including Telugu (original), Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bangla.

The story of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu revolves around the life of 'Shankara Varaprasad' (played by Chiranjeevi), an NIA officer. While his professional front is kind of sorted, his personal life is a complete mess. Being an NIA officer, 'Shankara' is in charge of overseeing the security of the Union Home Minister (played by Sharad Saxena). 

In his personal life, 'Shankara' has an estranged wife, 'Shashirekha' (played by Nayanthara) and has two children. As the story progresses, he is seen trying to win over his children and his estranged wife and mend their broken relationship. He gets a second chance when a vengeful ex-cop enters the scene, and 'Shankara' gets the charge to protect his estranged family.

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu received mixed reactions from the audience. A user wrote, "Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is a blockbuster cinema. unlimited entertainment throughout the film. never a dull moment. The best thing about the film is the boss and his charisma. The boss, sir, made everyone watch the film Time Travel. Witness the vintage boss of the 2000s. Venky mama lit the screen with his cameo #ManaShankaraVaraPrasadGaru." Comparing the first and the second half, a user penned:

"#ManaShankaraVaraPrasadGaru – 3.25/5. A decent commercial entertainer. Storyline feels similar to Thulasi/Viswasam. 1st Half is highly entertaining. Loved the Chiru & Nayan portions & the school episodes in the 1st Half. Use of the old “Sundari” song works very well. Both fun & feel-good elements click perfectly in the 1st half. 2nd half has some lag & lacks uniqueness and freshness. However, Chiru saves the 2nd half with his dialogue delivery & reactions. The Chiru & Venky portions are a treat for Telugu fans. We need this type of movie from Chiru. Director Anil Ravipudi is in unstoppable mode. Another hit movie for him. Overall, it’s a watchable & decent entertainer."
