Maniesh Paul is one of the most popular actors and hosts in the entertainment industry. He has made a place for himself in the heart of millions with his comic timing. For the unversed, the actor has hosted shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, India's Best Dancer, Nach Baliye and many more. He has even worked in films like Jugjugg Jeeyo and Mickey Virus. In his 21-year-long career span, Maniesh has experienced some funny incidents. And now, the actor recalled one such incident, which is related to Bollywood actor, Akshay Kumar.
In a recent interview with the Humans of Bombay, Maniesh Paul opened up about his life, career and family. During the interaction, the show's host asked him about a funny anecdote about a celebrity that still holds a place in his heart. Talking about the same, the actor recalled one of his funny interactions with Akshay Kumar from his initial hosting days. He shared that once he was hosting an award show and during the event, he asked Akshay Kumar to deliver a dialogue as he was stepping off the stage after receiving the award. However, Khiladi Kumar looked back at him and asked him to shut up. In his words:
"He said chup kar in a stern tone. I started sweating at this. My mother had also come for the first time to see my work. I was so embarrassed that beizzati hogayi."

Further, in the same conversation, Maniesh stated that he didn't step back after Akshay shouted at him, rather he followed him. He shared that he confronted the actor and told him that he felt bad. Maniesh added that their conversation continued for hours, and audiences laughed their hearts out. He further shared that Akshay even praised him for his humour. Elaborating more on it, he said:
"I started telling him how he insulted me in front of my mother. I said I was just asking him for tips on acting. Our conversation just went to another level and everyone was in splits."
In the same interview, Maniesh opened up about his film, Jugjugg Jeeyo and revealed how he felt when he bagged the role in the film. Talking about the same, the actor revealed that he felt really happy when his film got screened at PVR cinemas as he used to host premieres in his early days. Maniesh added that he was really content after witnessing his fans' love for him.

Earlier, in an interview with the Indian Express, Maniesh had opened up about the toughest phase of his career. Talking about the same, the actor stated that he has gone through his share of highs and lows but he has never sought sympathy from anyone. He added that before Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, he was at home with no work. Mentioning how his wife, Sanyukta Paul was managing the house, Maniesh had said:
"I remember before Jhalak, the whole year I was at home with no work. Swallowing meals would be tough. My wife was earning and so supportive throughout. God has been kind as after that phase, everything was just so much better. I think the fire that I developed during that phase helped me burn the stage."
