Manish Malhotra, the much-loved designer and producer is currently going through the toughest phase of his life. For the unversed, the ace designer recently lost his mother. Her funeral was held on March 20, 2026, at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium, Mumbai. It is worth mentioning that the cause of her death has not been revealed yet. Now, multiple Bollywood celebrities were seen attending the prayer meet of Manish Malhotra's mother.

The prayer meet of Sudarshan Malhotra was held on March 21, 2026, in Mumbai. According to the now-viral clips, multiple Bollywood celebrities had attended the same to offer their condolences to the designer. Some of the celebrities who were spotted are Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Nysa Devgn, Twinkle Khanna, Bobby Deol, Sophie Choudry, Anu Malik and more.

If reports are to be believed, the day Manish Malhotra’s mother passed away, celebrities like Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Karisma Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Karan Johar and more had visited Manish’s house to offer strength and support to him during such difficult times.

Manish Malhotra shared a heartfelt Instagram post for his mother

If reports are to be believed, Manish Malhotra’s mother tragically passed away on March 19, 2026, at the age of 94. The next day, the star designer took to his Instagram handle to share a photo of his mother, Sudarshan Malhotra and penned a sweet caption, which said, "Love and Miss you Forever."

Moments after the post went viral, multiple fans and celebrities expressed their sorrow on her death. Farah Khan commented, "She was just amazing Manish." Singer, Armaan Malik wrote, "Strength and healing to you and your family." Anupam Kher penned, "Sorry for your loss my dear Manish. Nothing in the world can replace the emotion called mother." Actress, Dia Mirza wrote, "You reflect her in every moment of kindness and love you so generously share. Deepest condolences and love to you Manish."

When Manish Malhotra opened up about his mother

While Sudarshan Malhotra was best-known as Manish’s mother, there is not much known about her personal life. It is worth noting that over the years, the designer also rarely spoke about his mother; however, he always shared an Instagram post on her birthday and other special occasions. 

In 2024, on Mother’s Day, Manish Malhotra shared a few heartwarming photos with his mother and described her as his strength and inspiration. In the caption, the designer also explained that it was his mother, who encouraged his love for clothes and movies. The caption could be read as:

"My mother. My Strength, Inspiration and My Companion as I have always lived with her with only Respect and love .. This morning having tea with her I was thanking her for always encouraging my love for clothes and movies since childhood. Happy Mothers Day."
