Mardaani 3 Ending Explained, Is 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' Able To Catch Real Mastermind Besides 'Amma'?

Rani Mukerji has reprised her role of 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' in the crime thriller, Mardaani 3. For the unversed, the film, directed by Abhiraj Minawala, was released in theatres on January 30, 2026. While Rani Mukerji is the lead, the movie also stars Mallika Prasad as the main antagonist. Since its release, Mardaani 3 is generating a lot of buzz on social media. Amid that read on to know what happens at the end of the movie.

Plotline of Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3

The crime thriller, Mardaani 3 begins when Ambassador Sahu’s only daughter, 'Ruhani' gets kidnapped from a farmhouse. Along with her is another underprivileged girl, 'Jhimli', who has been kidnapped. Because the daughter of a VIP is involved, the case is given to 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' (played by Rani Mukerji), who is now the Senior Superintendent of Police under the NIA. However, as soon as 'Shivani' starts the investigation, she realises that the case is not just about missing girls but has some darker twists to it.

As 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' digs deeper, she discovers that more than 90 girls have gone missing in only three months. This leads 'Shivani' to a dangerous beggar ma**a, which is led by 'Amma' (Mallika Prasad). During the investigation, 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' meets 'Fatima' (played by Janki Bodiwala), who is a young constable. 'Fatima' also turns out to be an eyewitness as well, as she has seen the culprits while they were taking 'Ruhani'. 'Fatima' then helps 'Shivani' track them. 

Later, two of 'Amma's' men target 'Ramanujan' (played by Prajesh Kashyap), who works at rescuing victims from 'Amma'. Later, when 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' is at work, the villain, 'Amma' reaches 'Shivani's' home and puts her husband's life at risk. At that time, 'Shivani' and 'Amma' get into a heated argument. Later, 'Shivani' takes her husband to hospital. 

Then she gets a lead about 'Ruhani'; however, when she, 'Fatima' and 'Ramanujan' track the place, they fail in finding 'Ruhani'. Later, 'Shivani' realises that the mastermind behind the network is 'Ramanujan'. As the film progresses, 'Shivani' and 'Fatima' are able to track down 'Ramanujan' and 'Amma' and they are finally arrested. However, due to some mistake, the key witness commits suicide and 'Ramanujan' is set free. This leads to the suspension of 'Shivani'.

Mardaani 3 ending explained (Spoiler ahead)

Despite the suspension, 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' refuses to stop. She again joins hands with 'Fatima' and plans a risky mission. Further, 'Fatima' tries to gain 'Ramanujan's' trust and travels to Sri Lanka with him where he reveals that he experiments a dr*g on the girls, which causes cancer in them. 

On the other hand, 'Shivani' tracks 'Amma' and confronts her, leading to her death. 'Shivani' rescues all the girls, including 'Ruhani'. Later, she injects the same dr*g in 'Ramanujan', leaving him alive but out of power and control. The film ends with 'Shivani's' suspension being revoked. Later, her name is also being considered for the President's Medal.
