'Mardaani 3' Release Date REVEALED, Rani Mukerji To Return As 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' With New Case

Rani Mukerji is one of the most versatile actresses in the Bollywood film industry. Over the years, she has given numerous hits to the industry, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Bunty Aur Babli, Hichki, Mardaani 2, and more. Now, the Kuch Khuch Hota Hai actress is all set to return as 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' with a new case in Mardaani 3. For the unversed, Rani portrayed the role of supercop 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' in the action thriller, Mardaani. A while ago, the makers released a new poster of Mardaani 3 and also revealed its release date.

Makers of Mardaani 3 unveil a new poster and reveal the release date

On September 22, 2025, Yash Raj Films took to their Instagram handle and shared a new poster of Mardaani 3. Along with the poster, they wrote a short note that offered a glimpse of the upcoming action thriller. According to YRF's post, this time in Mardaani 3, 'Shivani' will investigate the most challenging case of her career. They revealed that the movie is scheduled to hit the big screens on February 27, 2026. Revealing the release date, they wrote:

"On the auspicious Day 1 of Navratri, here’s to celebrating the victory of good over evil. #RaniMukerji returns as top cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3 to investigate the most challenging case of her career. Mardaani3 in cinemas 27th February, 2026."

Netizens' reaction to the new poster

Soon after YRF shared the new poster of Mardaani 3, netizens flooded the comment section. One user wrote, "A franchise that carved its legacy with two powerful sequels, a true ode to women’s strength and grace. Heartfelt congratulations on Mardaani Part 3! Special applause to the casting director for bringing such inspiring characters to life." Another user commented, "Welcome back, Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy ( Rani Mukherjee), who is ready to blast into fire. Once again, after the outstanding work in Mardaani 2 (2019), and now she is returning to another action scenario for Mardaani 3, I can't wait to watch it soon."

When Rani Mukerji shared her excitement to work in Mardaani 3

Earlier, in an official statement, Rani shared what people can expect from Mardaani 3 and her excitement about working on it. She shared that Mardaani 3 will have more intense action and suspense, than the previous films. She mentioned that the shooting of Mardaani 3 will start in April 2025. She was quoted as saying:

"I'm thrilled to announce that we are starting shooting of Mardaani 3 in April 2025! It is always special to wear the police uniform and play a character that has only given me love. I’m proud to essay the character of this feisty cop again in Mardaani 3 as a tribute to all the unsung, brave, self-sacrificing cops who work tirelessly every single day to keep us safe."

More about Mardaani 3

Mardaani 3 has been directed by Abhiraj Minawala. Rani Mukerji will be leading the project. The other cast members are yet to be confirmed by the makers. The film was produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner.
