On July 13, 2022, Masaba Gupta took to her IG stories and shared a screenshot of a comment from a troll, who criticised her for her looks. The comment can be read as, “You look so bad... It's an irony that you are in the fashion and entertainment industry.” However, it was Masaba’s befitting response to the troll that won our hearts. Without mincing her words, Masaba replied:
“That's cute. Let's be clear being in any industry has to do with talent. Crazy hard work. Wild discipline. Yes? Yes. As for my face, that's just a pretty bonus (as is my mind that is as sharp as a knife and your b******* wouldn't get past it even if you tried).”
Do you know when Masaba Gupta expressed her desire to become an actress, her mother, Neena Gupta had given her a reality check? In an interview with film critic, Rajeev Masand, Neena Gupta had revealed that she advised her daughter, Masaba against choosing an acting career in Bollywood. Neena Gupta told Masaba that she could never be a Hema Malini or an Alia Bhatt in this country with her looks and complexion.

For the unversed, Masaba Gupta was earlier married to producer, Madhu Mantena in a court marriage in 2015, however, things did not last long. The couple had decided to go for a trial separation in 2018 and was granted divorce in March 2020. In 2020, there were reports that she is dating Bollywood actor, Satyadeep Mishra, however, neither of them came forward to either confirm or deny the reports.
