The ace fashion designer, Masaba Gupta is the daughter of veteran actress, Neena Gupta and legendary cricketer, Vivian Richards. Talking about her personal life, Masaba initially tied the knot with a producer, Madhu Mantena, but later divorced him. And recently, in January 2023, Masaba got hitched to her Masaba Masaba co-star, Satyadeep Mishra, in a highly secret wedding. However, Masaba now opened up about certain conservative decisions taken by her mother, Neena, for which the latter also felt devastated later.
In an interview with Twinkle Khanna for her Tweak India platform, Masaba Gupta revealed that she wanted to live in before her first marriage with Madhu Mantena. However, her doting mother, Neena Gupta was completely against her decision. Thus, Masaba shared that her mother had encouraged her to get married. Not only that, Neena packed her things and sent her for the court marriage with Madhu. Masaba revealed:
“She (Neena) was like isne to chalu kia aur khatam bhi hogaya, 2 saal huye hain, kuch time nahi bitaya. I wanted to live-in with my ex-husband before getting married. She said no. She said, ‘I have made this mistake and you are not going to make this mistake. If you are sure about it, just get married.' She literally packed my things and sent me over the day the court marriage was done. Get out. She said when people are not married, they have the option to leave very easily."

Further, Masaba added initially, her mother, Neena was very conservative. Moreover, the doting mother never wanted her daughter to suffer like her. However, when Masaba's first marriage ended, Neena felt devasted and blamed herself for her daughter's divorce. Masba shared:
“She was very very conservative in that phase of my life. She didn't want me to go through what she went through. She said, ‘I think its my mistake and I should have let you do what you were doing, live together and you would have figured things out.’ She said, ‘I should have nudged you a bit and focussed a little bit. I am a bad mother’ and went into that dramatic part of an actress' mother's life.”
In the same conversation, Masaba also opened up about her first marriage with Madhu Mantena. The fashion designer confessed that she only got married due to peer pressure and there was nothing more. She mentioned:
“Everyone around me was getting married and I thought I will be left behind.”

On January 27, 2023, Masaba Gupta delighted her massive fans by announcing her secret wedding with Satyadeep Mishra. She took to her IG handle to announce the same in a collaborative post with the man of her dreams. For the wedding, the duo wore ensembles in shades of pink and looked perfect together.
