The legendary American actor, Matthew Perry, left this world for his heavenly abode on October 28, 2023. He is famous all across the world for the portrayal of ‘Chandler Bing’ in the popular sitcom, Friends. The entire world has been reeling from the loss of the actor’s tragic death. As per a report by TMZ, the 54-year-old actor passed away due to drowning in his jacuzzi.
While fans of the American-Canadian actor have been mourning the tragic loss of their beloved star, one can only imagine what agony Matthew’s family has been going through. The actor’s family has recently released a statement regarding his death.

Matthew Perry’s family has broken their silence after the actor’s death. He died in the wee hours of Saturday at his Los Angeles home. Reports state that there was no foul play involved. His family has now released a statement to the media outlet, People. The statement can be read as:
"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him, and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love."
After Matthew Perry passed away, the Hollywood production house, Warner Bros. TV, which produced the popular American sitcom, Friends, released a statement as well. They said:
“We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry. Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family. The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many. This is a heartbreaking day, and we send our love to his family, his loved ones, and all of his devoted fans."

Matthew Perry rose to fame with Friends, however, he has also acted in various other TV shows throughout his career, including Boys Will Be Boys, Growing Pains, Silver Spoons, Charles In Charge, Sydney, Beverly Hills, 90210, Home Free, Ally McBeal, The West Wing, Scrubs, Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, Go On, The Odd Couple, and many more.
Matthew Perry’s real life was very different from his character ‘Chandler Bing’. While the latter was funny, upbeat, and amiable, on the other hand, Matthew suffered from addiction in his real life. He struggled with addiction to Vicodin for many years. He had been in and out of rehab, despite being in the public eye. Last year, in his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir, he opened up about this difficult period of his life, detailing the challenges he faced, such as noticeable weight fluctuations during the show, Friends.
