Matthew Perry was one of the most famous actors, who left his fans rolling on the floor laughing with his sense of humour. The actor rose to fame with his stint in the most popular American sitcom, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Apart from that, he was also seen in several series, including Ally McBeal, The West Wing, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, among others. However, it was his character as 'Chandler' in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. that won the hearts of a massive audience of 8 to 80 worldwide. However, it was the actor's sudden demise that left people heartbreaking. Now, Matthew's friend and famous actor, George Clooney made a shocking revelation.

Matthew Perry wasn't happy with his role in the sitcom, F.R.I.E.N.D.S.?

In an interview with Deadline, George Clooney shared that he had known Matthew Perry since he was 16 years old. George shared that he and Matthew, along with other of their friends, used to play paddle tennis. Talking more about the late actor, George Clooney stated that he was ten years older than Matty, and called him a 'funny Kid'. Clooney said:

"I knew Matt when he was 16 years old. We used to play paddle tennis together. He’s about 10 years younger than me. And he was a great, funny, funny, funny kid."

George recalled Matthew saying that he would be the happiest man on the earth if he got to be on a regular sitcom, which he did and will be cherished forever for his unforgettable role as 'Chandler Bing'. However, what was shocking is that George Clooney shared that it didn't bring peace to the late actor. George can be quoted as saying:

"Perry always wished to be on a sitcom. He would say to us, I mean me, Richard Kind and Grant Heslov, ‘I just want to get on a sitcom, man. I just want to get on a regular sitcom and I would be the happiest man on earth’. And he got on probably one of the best ever. He wasn’t happy. It didn’t bring him joy or happiness or peace."

George Clooney reveals if he has any idea about Matthew Perry's addiction struggles

Going forward in the interview, George Clooney was asked if he had any idea about the late actor Matthew Perry's addiction struggles. To this, he said that he had no idea about all the heartbreaking stuff that Matthew later talked about. Speaking along the same lines, George Clooney added:

"I had no idea he was doing what, 12 Vicodin a day and all the stuff he talked about, all that heartbreaking stuff. It also just tells you that success and money and all those things, it doesn't just automatically bring you happiness. You have to be happy with yourself and your life."
