Meera Vasudevan Had Intimate Scenes With Mohanlal In Thanmathra, Revealed Why He Apologised

Popular Malayalam actress, Meera Vasudevan is leading the headlines after she announced her third divorce. The actress married Vipin Puthiyankam in an intimate ceremony in 2024. However, within a year, their relationship went for a toss, and the couple parted ways in August 2025. Meera recently announced her separation and called it a peaceful phase of her life.

Meer Vasudevan is one of the most talented actresses in Indian cinema. She has predominantly appeared in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu films and serials. Though she has starred in many successful films, her role in Blessy’s Thanmathra is one of her best works. However, she had a few intimate scenes in the film with Malayalam actor, Mohanlal.

Meera Vasudevan was reluctant to shoot intimate scenes with Mohanlal

Thanmathra is one of Meera's finest performances, which made her a household name. The actress had a few intimate scenes with Mohanlal in the film and was told that many senior actresses had turned down the film for the same reason. In an interview with Red Carpet, Meera revealed how she, too, was reluctant to shoot the scene and how the director convinced her. Elaborating on the same, she said:

“During the discussion, while Blessy was explaining the love-making scene, he said that many senior actors had denied the movie because of this. I just asked him why this scene is required.He explained that the scene was important from the wife's perspective as it was when Lekha understands that there is something wrong with Rameshan as he gets distracted and goes to shoo a lizard on the wall.”

Meera Vasudevan revealed why Mohanlal apologised to her

In the same conversation, Meera revealed that it was a more challenging job for Mohanlal as he was supposed to go n*de for the scene. However, being such an eminent actor, he made sure to apologise to Meera first if she felt uncomfortable. Talking about the same, Meera said:

“More than me, it was even more challenging for Mohanlal. He went completely nude for the scene. Before the shot, he came and apologized to me if he was making me uncomfortable by any chance. He was wearing a petticoat before the shot and removed it just before the same. I asked the director to make sure it is shot with a small team and they respected the same. We all worked the scene with a pure heart and integrity.”

Meera Vasudevan’s controversial married life

After her shot to fame in 2003 with the film, Rules: Pyaar Ka Superhit Formula, alongside Milind Soman, Meera Vasudevan got married to cinematographer Ashok Kumar’s son, Vishal Agarwal, in 2005. Within five years, the duo parted ways and filed for divorce. In 2012, she married Malayalam actor, John Kokken. The couple welcomed a son, but by 2016, Meera and John had gone their separate ways and divorced.

After her second divorce, Meera worked relentlessly and earned her name in some popular Malayalam serials. She gave love another chance in 2024 and got married to cinematographer, Vipin Puthiyankam. She met Vipin in 2019, when they worked together on a project. The duo officially registered their marriage in 2024, but within a year, they got divorced.
