Well, recently, on January 30, 2026, the US Department of Justice released a fresh batch of documents from the Jeffrey Epstein files, which revealed even more uncomfortable claims about the Microsoft co-founder. One such claim is that Bill Gates was allegedly involved in an extramarital affair. For the unversed, this allegation appears in one of Epstein's emails, which he sent to himself over a decade ago, on July 18, 2023. The 225-word email's subject line reads "bill."  

In the mail, Jeffrey Epstein claimed that Bill Gates not only engaged in extramarital s*x but also alleged that he helped arrange "illicit trysts” for the billionaire. Apparently, all of this took place when Bill Gates was going through a period of “severe marital dispute" with his then-wife, Melinda Gates. For those who are unaware, the duo divorced in May 2021. Now, a spokesperson for Bill denied the allegations, stating that the “claims are absolutely absurd and completely false." With Bill Gates' personal life in the spotlight, it is worth noting that he is currently in a relationship with Paula Hurd. For two decades, Paula held various sales and leadership positions at NCR (National Cash Register). For those wondering, the company is one of the top enterprise providers of software, hardware, and other services for banks and retailers. Currently, Paula works as a developer and organiser of a variety of “memorable" event experiences. According to her LinkedIn bio, these experiences are for personal, corporate, and charitable occasions.

Before getting together with Bill Gates, Paula Hurd was married to former Oracle CEO and onetime boss of Hewlett-Packard, Mark Hurd. If reports are to be believed, he also used to work at Paul's previous employer, the NCR. After falling in love, Paula and Mark tied the knot in 1990 and were together for decades until Mark passed away in October 2019. In their time together, they were blessed with two daughters, Kathryn and Kelly.  

Paula Hurd is a philanthropist  

While Paula Hurd was still married to her late husband, Mark Hurd, they both contributed to various causes and even led several fundraising campaigns. Paula has been a longtime donor to Mark's alma mater, Baylor University. In 2021, a few years after her husband's passing, she helped the school's Give Light Campaign reach its USD 1 billion mark. She did this by donating a whopping USD 7 million to the cause. As a result, in 2023, the school opened a welcome center named after both Paula and Mark. In a Baylor University press release, Paula expressed her thoughts on the same, stating: 

"Our family is absolutely thrilled with the Hurd Welcome Center. When we made this gift, Mark had a vision for how a welcome experience could transform this corner of campus, and the outcome has by far exceeded our expectations and dreams. I know he would be proud." 

Paula Hurd sparked engagement rumours with Bill Gates

After being spotted at the same sporting event in October 2021, Paula Hurd and Bill Gates began making more public appearances together in September 2022. Eventually, a source close to the couple confirmed the status of their relationship in February 2023, something which many had been wondering about at the time. They further added that Bill and Paula's relationship was "widely known.”  

Five months after Bill Gates and Paula Hurd were confirmed to be dating, the duo sparked engagement rumours when the latter was seen sporting a ring on her ring finger while she went out with her boyfriend in New York City. However, a spokesperson for Bill was quick to clarify that the ring had belonged to Paula for quite some time and had nothing to do with the rumoured engagement. To quote the spokesperson: 

"Our office can confirm that the ring Mrs. Hurd was seen wearing has belonged to her for decades.”  

Paula Hurd and Bill Gates attended high-profile events like Jeff Bezos' engagement party and Anant Ambani's pre-wedding celebration together  

Back in August 2023, Paula Hurd was seen attending Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos's and Lauren Sánchez’s engagement party with her billionaire boyfriend, Bill Gates. For those unaware, the intimate soiree was held at Jeff's USD 500 million yacht. Reportedly, the yacht in question was anchored off the coast of Italy at the time.  

A couple of months later, Bill Gates and Paula Hurd attended Anant Ambani, the son of billionaire, Mukesh Ambani's pre-wedding celebration. Spanning three days, the March 2024 event kicked off with a performance by pop star, Rihanna.
