Meet Cricketer Abhishek Sharma: Ex-Girlfriend Committed Suicide, Is Allegedly Dating Laila Faisal

Abhishek Sharma is an Indian International cricketer. He made his debut on the Indian team against Zimbabwe in July 2024. The cricketer plays as an opening batsman and a spinner for the team and represents Punjab in domestic cricket while he plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. While the cricketer has had an immaculate innings so far professionally, his luck at love has been at a low.

Abhishek Sharma's ex-girlfriend and model, Tania Singh committed suicide

It was in February 2024 when the reports went rife that Abhishek Sharma was under the radar of Surat police following his alleged association with the suicide of model, Tania Singh. Abhishek Sharma, who had yet to make his debut on the international team, was playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise when he was called for interrogation. According to the report by India.com, the police stated that Abhishek was the last person to receive a call from Tania. According to the report, the investigators also found a message sent by Tania to Abhishek on WhatsApp, which remained unanswered.

An Indian Express report further revealed that Abhishek had blocked Tania's number and had ghosted the model on social media. The reports suggested that the duo were in a relationship 6-7 months before the unfortunate incident occurred. For the unversed, Tania was discovered hanging from the ceiling of her apartment in Surat's Vesu area in February 2024 and was discovered by her father, Bhanwar Singh. No suicide note was found at the scene. While no further reports were made about  Abhishek Sharma, the tragic loss could've been gut-wrenching for anyone involved.

In December 2024, speculations on the discussion platform Reddit went rife after a picture of the cricketer, Abhishek Sharma was shared with the influencer and founder of women's luxury brand, LRF, Laila Faisal. Before that, speculations were made that the cricketer was dating the internet personality, Diya Mehta after the two were clicked together during a Sunrisers Hyderabad photoshoot. However, neither of the relationships were confirmed or denied by those involved.

While there is confirmation about Abhishek Sharma's love life, his stellar performance on the ground has won our hearts. Abhishek Sharma set the record for the highest individual score by an Indian in Twenty-20 Internationals during India’s fifth T20I against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 2, 2025. Abhishek broke Subhman Gill's record by scoring a spectacular 135 runs in 54 balls.

However, that is not all. The cricketer also broke the record for most sixes hit by a player in an innings of a T20I match after he hit a total of 13 sixes. Abhishek, earlier in the innings, also scored the second-fastest fifty ever by an Indian batsman and the second-fastest century in the format by a player. The cricketer has made the country proud by his spectacular performance in the format.
