Meet Ilan Rubin, Foo Fighters New Drummer, Married To Erin Gray's Daughter, Expecting His Second Kid

Ilan Rubin is a musician, producer, songwriter, composer and artist. He is a well-known drummer with prior stints with bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, Lostprophets, Angels & Airwaves and Danny Elfman. However, the drum is not the only instrument he can play. In 2008, he formed his studio, The New Regime, where he sings and plays all the instruments. He is also the first Rock Hall inductee to be born in the 1980s.

Raised in San Diego, Ilan Rubin started playing drums at the age of eight after he discovered his father's 1968 Silver Sparkle Ludwig drum kit in the garage. There was no going back for the handsome drummer since. However, now he is all set to enter a new chapter of his life, not just professionally but personally as well. Ilan Rubin will be the Foo Fighters' new drummer

It was only months ago when Josh Freese was fired from the band, Foo Fighters. However, the show must go on, and in the same spirit, the band has now enlisted drummer, Ilan Rubin to take Josh Freese's place. According to a report by Hollywood Reporter, Ilan was supposed to be touring with Nine Inch Nails before the switch happened. He has been with the band since 2009. Whether Ilan's collaboration with the Foo Fighters is permanent or just for touring is unclear, but the newest addition has definitely left the fans excited. Additionally, in an unusual twist of fate, Josh Freese will be stepping in as the touring drummer for Nine Inch Nails' upcoming tour, Peel It Back. 

Ilan Rubin holds a Guinness Book of World Record 

Ilan Rubin's love for music was evident since he was a young child. He started playing for F.o.N. at the age of nine and opened with them at Woodstock '99 on the Emerging Artist Stage. The drummer was only 11 years old at the time, which gained him an entry into the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest musician to play on a Woodstock stage.

Ilan Rubin is married to Erin Gray's daughter, Samantha Gray Hissong

Ilan Rubin, while a legend on stage, is extremely private about his personal life. However, that hasn't stopped him from showing love to his beloved wife, Samanth Gray Hissong. Yes! The handsome drummer is married to none other than actress Erin Gray's daughter, Samantha Gray. For the unversed, Erin Gray is a well-known actress known for her films like, Clover Bend, T-Force, A Perfect Christmas, A Christmas Princess and the series, Star Trek Continues. Samantha is a writer for Rolling Stone magazine and a music journalist. The duo started dating in December 2018, and Ilan popped the big question in May 2020. The duo got married in October 2020.

Ilan Rubin is going to be a dad for the second time

Ilan Rubin is the father of a gorgeous little boy, Elton. He and Samantha welcomed their little boy in July 2023. Five days ago, Samantha made another heartwarming announcement. She took to her Instagram handle and posted some pictures of herself flaunting her baby bump. She penned a hilarious caption with the post, which read:

"My toddler wanted a dinosaur so I got him the next best thing."
