Following her death, a Thanksgiving post of hers from 2022 has resurfaced, in which she expressed gratitude to Mike for driving all the way to Wisconsin just to find an open liquor store for the celebrations, since they had forgotten to stock up beforehand. The post could be read as:

"Today I'm grateful for a husband that will drive to Wisconsin where liquor stores are open because we forgot earlier this week Happy thanksgiving, ladies and gents!"

Recounting a fun instance, she wrote on X, "Overheard on my husband's conference call: 'Are you watching a game?' 'No, my wife is just watching miracle for the millionth time.'" According to the statement from the White Bear Lake Fire Department, a fire broke out at Jessi's family home in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, at early morning (5:20 a.m.) on March 21 2026. Emergency responders from the White Bear Lake Fire Department received calls from neighbours at around 5:25 a.m. after they reported seeing smoke and flames breaking through the roof of the residence on Richard Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found the residential building "fully involved" and engulfed in flames. Despite efforts to put the fire out, Jessi and her three children had already succumbed to the flames by the time they were discovered.

The four bodies were recovered from inside the home in a charred state, and all were pronounced dead at the scene. Several neighbours reported witnessing the fire spread across the property while the family was still inside. Officials have not yet released detailed findings on the cause of the fire, and they are still investigating the case. Jessi Pierce's husband, Mike Hinrichs, is the sole surviving member of the family because he was not present at the house when the mishap occurred.
