American television personality, Katie Lane Thurston is leading the headlines after she called out a contestant from her show, The Bachelorette, for his hateful comments. It so happened that the former contestant took a jab at Katie and her husband, Jeff Arcuri’s wedding picture and commented, "Good couple! Both solid 5s" with a laughing emoji.
For the unversed, Katie recently got married to Jeff after disclosing her cancer diagnosis. The comment by the former contestant didn’t go well with Katie, who clapped back at him. She uploaded the screenshot to her stories, censoring Menk's name, and gave a befitting reply:
"Remember this guy from my season? Me either. But he's still here lurking on my page. Thanks for being a fan."

In February 2025, Katie was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Katie had also revealed that her cancer had spread to her liver, too. The 34-year-old is undergoing hormone-blocking therapy, and it is none other than Jeff, who stood by her. From visiting hospitals to mapping her road to recovery, Jeff has been her constant strength. He cancelled his tour dates to be by her side.
Learning about her cancer diagnosis was difficult for Katie; however, it was Jeff who provided her strength. Before starting the treatment, the couple got married in a backyard ceremony on March 22, 2025. Talking about their marriage, Katie told US Weekly:
“And one night he said, ‘I want to show you that I still love you and that I’m here to stay. I’ll get married to you tomorrow’. We flew our parents in from Michigan and Washington State. We got our marriage license.”
Katie revealed the reason behind marrying Jeff just days before beginning her treatment, as he didn’t want her to go through the experience alone. In a joint interview with US Weekly, Jeff shared his reason behind marrying Katie before her treatment and said:
“I just also want to be able to be in the hospital with her and just be like, ‘My wife’s in there. And I don’t want to be not with you for any of this. I just want to be everywhere with you as much as I can.”
In a world where relationships go for a toss with little fights, Jeff remained hopeful that his love for Katie would only cure her. Speaking on the Off the Vine podcast, Katie revealed the impact of her diagnosis on her marriage and stated that it was Jeff’s unwavering commitment during the most challenging time of her life that worked wonders in her marriage. In her words:
“I am so blessed to have this rock within arm’s reach.”
Katie Thurston and Jeff Arcuri’s relationship stands as the perfect example of the wedding vow, ‘in sickness and in health’.
