In a throwback interview with Lehren Retro, Mayoori revealed how the showbiz was dominated by men. Speaking about how pairing with successful male actors can significantly influence a female actor’s career trajectory, Mayoori said:
“Indian films, sadly, remain a man’s domain, because that’s how society functions. No matter how much you want to deny it, it’s still a man’s world. It’s not the heroine who ‘sells’ the territory, it’s the hero. So when a heroine is paired with a successful male actor, it’s believed that some of that success will reflect on her too.”
She married an NRI named Aditya Dhillon in December 2003 and shifted to New York. Later, she enrolled in the MBA in Marketing and Finance program at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. From 2004 to 2012, Mayoori worked in America and gained significant exposure.
After working in America, Mayoori returned to India in 2013 and worked as a Chief Digital Officer at Zenith for five years. She then joined Performix as a managing director. In 2019, Mayoori joined Google India as the Head of Industry - Agency Partnership and was later promoted to the position of Industry Head.
