Teja Sajja is one of the most popular faces in the Telugu film industry. Recently, the young star has garnered a lot of limelight for his stellar performance in the fantasy action-adventure film, Mirai. For the unversed, Teja appeared in the film as 'Super Yodha', who saved the world from the evil, 'Black Sword', played by Manchu Manoj. In fact, the showdown between Teja and Manchu in the film, stole the spotlight.
But do you know that Teja entered the glamour world, when he was just two years old? Yes, you read it right. He made his silver screen debut as a child actor at the tender age of 2, in the action thriller, Choodalani Vundi. It was director, Gunasekhar who gave Teja a chance in cinema. Besides being an actor, Teja is a trained classical dancer. So, without further ado, let’s jump in to know more about the Mirai star.
Teja was born on August 23, 1994, in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, now Telangana, to a Telugu family. His father, Ramakrishna Sajja, worked in the private sector, while his mother is a homemaker. He has an elder brother. He completed his schooling at Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet. Later, he graduated from Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad. He holds a degree in BBA.
From a tender age, he has been into acting. As a child artist, he has shared screen space with South Indian film stars, including Chiranjeevi, Daggubati Venkatesh, NTR Jr, Allu Arjun, Pawan Kalyan, and Prabhas. As an adult, he appeared in a supporting role in Samantha Prabhu starrer, Oh! Baby. In 2021, he bagged his first lead role as an actor. For the uninitiated, Teja appeared in the film, Zombie Reddy, the first zombie film in Telugu cinema.
Teja stepped into acting at the mere age of two, with Chiranjeevi starrer, Choodalani Vundi. He appeared as a child actor alongside icons, Chiranjeevi, Daggubati Venkatesh, NTR Jr., Allu Arjun, Pawan Kalyan, and Prabhas in over twenty movies. These films include, Kalisundam Raa, Indra, Gangotri, Samba, Balu and many more.

In 2019, he made a comeback as an adult and appeared in a supporting role, in the movie, Oh! Baby. In 2021, he made his debut as a lead actor with the zombie film, Zombie Reddy. However, he became an overnight sensation after the release of his film, Hanu-Man. He won a National Award and the Radio City Cine Awards Telugu for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the 2024 superhero film, Hanu-Man.
Earlier, in an interview with TOI, Teja Sajja shared that when he was a child, he had the opportunity to work with many renowned actors and filmmakers, which sparked his dream of becoming a lead actor. He mentioned that he used to crave becoming a performer with many skills. So, on Chiranjeevi’s suggestion, he learned horse riding. NTR Jr. encouraged him to learn the classical form, Kuchipudi and took training for three years. Later, when Chiranjeevi learned about his Kuchipudi training, he suggested that he also learn Western dance. For his film, Mirai, he also received training in martial arts.
According to 5 Dariya News, the Mirai actor’s net worth is estimated to be between Rs. 8 crore and Rs. 10 crore. He reportedly earned Rs. 2 crores for the film, Hanu-Man. As per a report by Big TV, Teja Sajja charged between Rs. 8 crore to Rs. 10 crore for the film, Mirai.
