"Honestly, there's no balance. Because I've said this very often, when I prioritise my work, my kids and many other family members hate me for it. So there's a lot of hate, there's a lot you have to deal with. When I prioritise my family at times, I've been taunted as, she's doing it part-time. I just took off for two hours to attend a PTA meeting. That's not part time. So, you know, it's like damn if you do, damn if you don't. There's no balance. You just have to wake up every morning, make your to-do list, be at peace with what you've decided and get on with life."
During a conversation with Chetan Bhagat in 2022, Namita shared that she faced body shaming when she was a child. It was quite heartbreaking for her at the time, when kids used to call her 'm**i'. She added that those comments made her feel ugly. She was quoted as saying:
"I had facial hair on my upper lip. A lot of girls have. A guy in my class would call me, 'Mishi wali porgi'. 'Mishi' means moustache and 'porgi' means girl. So I would be called 'The girl with a moustache', 'm**i'. Like everything else, I have worked hard on myself. I used to feel extremely ugly and had a very low self-esteem."
