Nidhi Kulpati announced her retirement from the world of journalism. She was NDTV India's Managing Editor for a glorious tenure of 23 years. The news anchor took to her social media on May 22, 2025, and shared the news with her viewers, thanking them for their support over the years.
While Nidhi Kulpati diligently shared the news for over two decades, going into every detail of what was going on in the country and abroad, there is hardly much that is known about the news anchor's personal life. So, as we bid adieu to one of the most dedicated news anchors and cheer her for the next chapter of her life, let's take a look at her journey over the years.
Nidhi Kulpati was born on May 19, 1976. While her early education background is unknown, she did her training in journalism at Sky TV, London. The news anchor then started her career with a stint at Newstrack in 1991. However, soon after gaining a few years of experience in a broadcasting career, she got an offer from Zee TV. Nidhi accepted the offer and joined as a stand-by anchor at ZeeTV. She remained a stand-by anchor for six long years, later resigning to explore new opportunities. Nidhi worked with Doordarshan and BBC, before joining NDTV, where she worked for the rest of her career.
Nidhi Kulpati joined NDTV India in 2002, which was then considered one of India's prominent Hindi news channels. She worked diligently with the network and soon climbed the ladder to a senior Anchor and Reader. She worked on numerous shows on the NDTV network, including Mukhyamantri Chale Gaon, Yuva Sansad, Dilli Durbar, and Prime Time, among others. Her dedication and hard work soon led her to reach the pinnacle of journalism, naming her among some of the most successful journalists on Indian news networks. Soon after, she became the managing director of NDTV India.
Nidhi Kulpati found love with co-journalist, Neelesh Misra, and they soon decided to tie the knot. While there are details of their marriage, reports reveal that their marital bliss was short-lived. Neelesh reportedly died of a heart attack in 2005, when she was in Mysore in a hotel with her husband. Nidhi was only 29 years old, when the tragedy struck her. Despite being so young, Nidhi never got married again and became even more focused towards her career.
