Rajat Patidar hails from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Born in a family of businessmen, the young soul soon understood that his destiny was not behind a desk but a bat. Following what would be the biggest game changer of his life, Rajat joined the cricket club at the young age of 8, and it's fair to say that he has given his all to the sport ever since. However, this journey came with some tough sacrifices for the ace cricketer.
Rajat Patidar joined Royal Challengers Bangalore as a rising star and captain for the Indian Premier League 2025. After a terrific tournament, he led the team to its first trophy in the 18 years it has been a part of the tournament. Hailed by Rajat, RCB and its fans will always remember his contribution for the grand moment.
Rajat Patidar has helmed the reins of Royal Challengers Bangalore with utmost pride and perfection. However, in order to achieve that, the ace cricketer has had to sacrifice a lot in his personal life, especially his marriage. Rajat had to postpone his wedding to Gunjan Patidar repeatedly due to his cricket commitments while also maintaining a veil of privacy for his then-fiance.
Rajat Patidar, who is known for his immaculate innings and consistent IPL and domestic cricket success, has earned him a solid fanbase. Nonetheless, not many know about his largely private personal life. Originally set for May 2022, the duo delayed their special day multiple times after Rajat was signed by RBC. However, Rajat's match-winning century in the 2022 IPL playoffs against Lucknow Super Giants not only sealed his spot but also confirmed the delay in his personal celebrations.
Rajat leads an extremely private life when he is off the field, and he has maintained the same for his relationship as well. While there has only been a subtle hint, it is believed that Rajat married Gunjan at a private wedding soiree. However, unlike other wives, Gunjan is rarely spotted in the stands cheering for her husband, further confirming the wall of privacy the duo has created.

Rajat Patidar made his first-class cricket debut on October 30, 2015, for the Ranji Trophy. He later made his Twenty20 debut as a part of Madhya Pradesh's team. However, it wasn't until 2021 that the IPL teams noticed him. It was Royal Challengers Bangalore who put their trust in Rajat and gave him his first big IPL debut. Nonetheless, after he only scored only 71 runs in four games, he was let go.
After remaining unsold for the 2022 IPL action, Rajat was signed on mid-season by RCB once again. And this time, Rajat proved himself by scoring a magnificent 112 against Lucknow Super Giants in the eliminator. He ended the tournament with 333 runs to his name and, as a result, was retained by RCB in 2023 but missed the IPL 2023 due to an Achilles Heel injury. He returned to the tournament in 2024. However, it was his return as the captain in 2025 that changed everything.
RCB needed a fresh face, especially since Faf du Plessis had not been retained, and Virat Kohli had opted to continue just as a player. Rajat was handed the reins for the tournament, marking him as the 8th RCB captain and the 4th Indian captain, and he made sure he proved that he deserved the same. He scored a mind-blowing innings of 312 runs himself and supported his team, leading them to a well-deserved victory.
While Rajat avoids media discussions on his private life, maintaining focus on growth and team contributions, his contribution to the team has definitely not gone unnoticed. What are your thoughts on Rajat Patidar's achievements? Let us know.
