Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar started her journey with a few mythological shows

Keerti’s frequent presence on the small screen has helped her become a popular face. Her journey dates back to 2001. She was cast in Om Namah Shivay. Aired on DD National, it has become a cult show over time. Keerti then portrayed the lead in another show of a similar theme, Jai Santoshi Maa, and was later featured in an episode of Ssshhhh…Koi Hai.

After working on three different shows, Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar had the opportunity to join Balaji Telefilms in the soap opera, Kammal, in 2002. The show aired for a year and had famous personalities like Ronit Roy. Keerti had two more shows to her credit, where she was the lead - Har Mod Par and Ghar Sansaar. In between that, she made occasional appearances on Raat Hone Ko Hai.

Doordarshan’s Aakrosh marked Keerti’s first collaboration with her husband, Sharad Kelkar, on television, years before they exchanged vows. Nach Baliye led to their first presence as a couple on screen in 2006. Before that, Keerti was featured in Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka and in two episodes of the anthology series, Aahat. Kahiin To Hoga led to another team-up with Balaji Telefilms.

Following her continuous appearances in positive roles, Keerti was featured in a negative character in Saat Phere - Saloni Ka Safar in 2007. She was seen as 'Devika Nahar Singh' and 'Chandni Singh.' Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar was featured in a similar role in Solhah Singaarr. This was followed by Chotti Bahu - Sindoor Bin Suhagan. Two years before the premiere of the latter, she was part of a Bhojpuri film, Kanyadaan.

Back in 2017, Keerti was introduced as 'Simar Prem Bharadwaj' in the Colors TV show, Sasural Simar Ka, after Dipika Kakar’s exit. While speaking to a news outlet, Keerti addressed her absence on the small screen for seven years, saying that she intended to sign something good.

However, Keerti admitted that the role was challenging. She opened up on the reasons, saying that she had to bring freshness since the character was already established. Keerti mentioned during the conversation that she was nervous and excited to go in front of the camera after a long break.

Back in 2004, Sharad Kelkar met his wife for the first time when they worked together in Aakrosh. The pair started dating and got close to each other, following another collaboration in CID: Special Bureau. The duo exchanged vows a year after they met each other in 2005. The couple welcomed a daughter named Kesha in 2014.
