Once, in an interview with the ANI, Yash's coach, Amit, shared that Chandrapal got his son to him for coaching at the mere age of 14. The coach shared:

"His father was a cricketer. He had played the Vizzy Trophy and was also a medium-pacer, but for some reason, could not play further. He is currently working in the AG office in Allahabad. His son fulfilled his dream. He brought Yash to me when he was around 14-15 years old. I was a cricket coach at the Madan Mohan Malaviya stadium in Allahabad then. Yash came to me and we started training."

The coach further shared that Yash Dayal was selected for the U-19 camp, but he wasn't selected for the U-19 team. He kept working hard, and next time he got a chance in the U-23 for the Uttar Pradesh team. At one end, Chandrapal could not create his name in international cricket. However, he was very much attached to sports and made his son, Yash, inclined towards them as well. According to social media reports, Chandrapal used to practice with his son, Yash, when Yash was a kid. Chandrapal used to help Yash understand the importance of fast bowling and the discipline required in cricket. Chandrapal always believed that Yash was capable enough of pursuing a cricket career.

"When a kid starts playing, he dreams of representing the country. Now, he has earned a call-up to represent the nation. From a small city, he has come so far. When your focus is right, you will get success. I was a cricketer myself; he saw me play as a kid. Though he could not play for UP in U19, he was selected in U23 back in 2018, and since then, he has not looked back. He has been progressing consistently since then, be it in the Ranji Trophy, IPL etc. This dream of playing for India has also come true."

"It is a matter of happiness for us. This is a big deal for us. We are celebrating it all together. All family members have gathered and will be bursting firecrackers. We cannot express our happiness in words. This all took a lot of hard work. We kept motivating him and gave him positivity to go on no matter what."
