Meghalaya Murder Case, New Video Of Raja And Sonam Raghuvanshi At Shillong Hotel Surfaces Online

It has been days since the news of Raja Radhuvanshi's murder has been making rounds online. The country was left shocked when it was revealed how Sonam Raghuvanshi planned her own husband's murder with her lover, Raj Kushwaha and three other assailants. What was furthermore gut-wrenching was the fact that the couple was supposed to be on their honeymoon celebrating the beginning of their journey together, when Sonam instead marked it with the end of Raja Raghuvanshi's life. Amid several changing confessions and emerging evidence, another video of the couple has surfaced online.

A video of Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi from Shillong hotel surfaces online

It was on June 12, 2025, when India Today shared a video of Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam Raghuvanshi on their Instagram handle. The video started with Sonam waiting outside their hotel room for her husband, Raja. The accused was dressed in a white top and denim pants. Her hair was tied in a topknot, and she carried a sling bag with her. Sonam was busy checking something on her phone.

Raja walks out of the room in a white tank layered with a white half-sleeve shirt and blue denim pants. He also carried a cross-bag with him, seemingly twinning with his wife. The video looked absolutely normal at first glance. Notably, Sonam didn't even look up from her phone to acknowledge her husband. Instead, she walked away before he could join her outside. The duo can be seen walking across the front desk of the hotel, with Sonam still on her phone and Raja following her. The clip ends with Raja and Sonam exiting the hotel on foot and disappearing in the distance.

Sonam Raghuvanshi planned Raja Raghuvanshi's murder with her lover, Raj Kushwaha

Over the past few days, several details of the case have come forward. Including how Sonam Raghuvanshi orchestrated the murder of her husband with the help of her lover, Raj Kushwaha, who was also her colleague at her father's plywood factory. They were further assisted by three assailants, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi. According to the reports, Raja and Sonam had left their home days after getting married on May 11, 2025, for their honeymoon. However, their trip was initially to Kamakhya Devi Temple, which later turned into a trip to Meghalaya.

The couple reached Meghalaya on May 20, 2025, and on May 23, 2025, the couple decided to go on a trek to one of the most popular spots in Nongriat village in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. However, Raja was unaware of the horrifying scheme his wife had planned for him, and soon after, he went missing. After days of searching, Raja's dead body was recovered near Weisawdong Falls. Sonam and the three assailants fled the scene. However, Sonam was arrested from a dhaba in Ghazipur, Raj from Madhya Pradesh, and Vishal, Akash, and Anand from Uttar Pradesh. 

With the investigation in full swing, the accused, including Sonam, has been remanded in police custody for eight days.
