'Metro In Dino' Trailer: Love, Heartbreak And Commitment Issues In Mumbai, New Drama Awaits

Anurag Basu's magnum opus, Life In A Metro, with its depiction of love, heartbreak and friendship, has always held a special place in the hearts of all cinephiles. The director is back again to show the complexity of love and life in the hustle and bustle of Mumbai city with Metro In Dino. This upcoming movie is a spiritual sequel to the first film and showcases new sets of couples and their troubles. The trailer for Metro In Dino was recently launched, and it promises a star-studded cast, soulful music, and endearing love stories.

Metro In Dino stars Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur and many more acclaimed stars 

The Metro In Dino trailer shows four different couples who are paired as such- Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi and Konkona Sen Sharma, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Ali Fazal, and Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher. Only Konkona and Kay Kay Menon are the two actors from Life In A Metro who are back in this spiritual sequel of the iconic movie. However, they are not going to be reprising their roles since the story of the upcoming movie does not seem to be connected to the first one. 

Metro In Dino trailer gives a glimpse of the couples and their messy love stories 

In the trailer, Aditya Roy Kapur seems to be playing the role of a commitment phobe who is involved with Sara Ali Khan, who wants stability in life. Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher showcase an older couple trying to rediscover love at their age. Pankaj Tripathi and Konkona Sen Sharma are playing husband and wife, and they are going through a rough patch in their marriage. Meanwhile, Neena and Konkona's characters are likely mother and daughter. Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh are playing an estranged couple that have parted ways. Apart from the mother-daughter relationship, what are the interconnected ties between the other characters are yet to be revealed. 

Pritam's music is the show-stealer of Metro In Dino trailer 

Along with the heart-warming stories, a huge reason for Life In A Metro's success was music composer, Pritam's beautiful songs. In fact, the song In Dino featured in the first movie became such an iconic tune that the upcoming movie was named after it. Life In A Metro also had a very unique way of showcasing the songs. Instead of the actors breaking into a Bollywood dance number, a band of musicians, including Pritam, would appear on the screen and play live music. Pritam is back as the music composer of Metro In Dino; however, this time, he has paired with current popular singers such as Arijit Singh and Papon. 

Metro In Dino promises more drama than Life In A Metro 

Life In A Metro was highly acclaimed and became a commercial success. However, it wasn't a commercial film. Though it had a lot of relationship drama, the narrative and acting were subtle and simple. That does not seem like the case for Metro In Dino. The screenplay for this movie is more dramatic and over the top than the prequel. As per the trailer, a dance number by Pankaj Tripathi might be included in the film as well. It is also made on a grander scale, with mainstream Bollywood stars in the lead roles. The trailer also reminded many people of Anurag Basu's last popular movie, Ludo.
