Mika Singh Says Anant Ambani And Radhika's Wedding Was A 'Blessing', 'Ek Shaadi Se Ek Lakh Log...'

Mika Singh is one of the most loved singers in India. He is known for his unique voice, impressive style, and fun personality. He is credited for singing some of the most popular songs like Subah Hone Na De, Aankh Marey, Mauja Hi Mauja, Party Toh Banti Hai and many more. Given his popularity, the singer and rapper was invited to perform at the grand wedding celebration of businessman, Mukesh Ambani's son, Anant Ambani, with Radhika Merchant. In a recent interview, Mika explained why he believes the grand wedding was a 'blessing' for lakhs of people.

Mika Singh addresses the criticism of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's grand wedding 

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding was one of the biggest events 2024 with two destination pre-wedding celebrations and a six-day grand wedding affair in Mumbai. Countless people admired the star-studded event, while a few criticised the extravagant scale of the wedding. However, in a new interview with Pinkvilla, Mika Singh mentioned that such grand weddings are a blessing for many who earn from them.

The Aaj Ki Party singer explained that people fail to understand how these grand celebrations provide several employment opportunities. From caterers, decorators, fashion designers, musicians, security staff, and more, everyone benefits from it. Moreover, several artists get a chance to perform before important people. Citing an example, he said that if two thousand people attended the wedding, one must think about how many households can run through it. Praising the Ambani family, he slammed the people who called the wedding a waste of money. In his words:

“Agar ek shaadi se ek lakh logon ka ghar chal raha hai, toh yeh toh blessing hai! Chamchagiri nahi kar raha hu.”

Nita Ambani sat down for an interview with Bloomberg Television, where she was also asked about her son, Anant Ambani's grand wedding. She addressed the criticism over the wedding's grand scale and explained that, like any other parent, she and her husband, Mukesh Ambani, wanted the best for their child. At the same time, they tried to take the opportunity to promote Indian culture and brands. In her words: 

 "Every parent wants to do their best for their children's wedding. And that's what we did in all this. I think it was a made-in-India brand that came out. I am happy that I was able to bring our Indian traditions, heritage, and culture to the centre stage."

Anant Ambani is the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani. He married his longtime girlfriend, Radhika Merchant, in July 2024. They began the celebrations with a grand Hastakshar ceremony in Jamnagar and a star-studded pre-wedding celebration cruise trip to Europe. Later, the six-day event was held at their world-renowned residence, Antilia and the Jio Convention Center. The couple's wedding was attended by popular stars like Justin Bieber, Diljit Dosanjh, Arijit Singh, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Priyanka Chopra, among several other popular names from the business, politics and sports sectors.
