Stranger Things may have officially come to an end, but the discussions around the hit Netflix series seem far from over. Just days after the highly anticipated finale of the Netflix series dropped on December 31, 2025, a new speculation about the protagonist, Millie Bobby Brown's alleged conflict with the rest of the cast gained momentum. Especially Millie's absence from the finale event and a short but significant social media post have led netizens to doubt whether there is tension behind the scenes or if they are misinterpreting simple farewell messages. Here's the truth behind it.
The rumours about Millie Bobby Brown's conflict with the Stranger Things cast gained attention when the actress did not attend the private finale watch party of the show held in New York on December 26, 2025. Netizens were quick to connect her absence with her unhappiness over the ending of her character, the show, or a possible feud with her co-stars.

However, multiple reports clarified that the actress was recovering from a dislocated shoulder sustained from a fall. As per some news outlets, she did watch the finale remotely at the same time as her castmates, refuting the possibility of personal issues.

Another issue that intensified speculation was Mille Bobby Brown's Instagram post, which she shared on January 1, 2026, bidding farewell to the show. For this purpose, the actress shared a black-and-white image of her with the series co-creators, Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer. She shared it with a short and simple caption, "Over and out." Netizens quickly tried to decipher her phrase, with some believing it was a farewell text and others interpreting it as a sign of frustration. However, a section of fans pointed out that the phrase is used within the Stranger Things Universe by characters to communicate via walkie-talkies, hinting at nostalgia.

Another reason that fuelled speculation was the 21-year-old's Instagram story, featuring her co-star, Finn Wolfhard, in which she used affectionate terms to describe him. Again, netizens on X suggested that the tone of the post hinted at Millie's disappointment over her character, 'Eleven's' fate on the show. Still, others argued that the post rather reflected her emotions about their decade-long journey together, rather than a conflict with the rest of the cast. Finally, Millie Bobby Brown herself ended the speculation during her Netflix Tudum "reacts" video shared amid the finale, wherein she watched her initial on-set interviews for the show and addressed her bond with the rest of the cast, saying;

"I love them like family. It's going to be really hard to say goodbye to them."
A major part of the speculation came with how 'Eleven's’ journey ended in the finale. In the last episode, 'Eleven' makes a sacrifice during the last battle and stays in the Upside Down to seal the rifts and defeat 'Vecna'. The final scenes appear tragic and isolated for her character, with an ambiguous epilogue leaving some hope. Finn Wolfhard, who plays 'Miles Wheeler', suggested a theory that 'Eleven' might still be alive and was possibly saved by 'Kali'. It was later confirmed by the Duffer brothers, who admitted that they had to intentionally let 'Eleven' go away so that other characters could move forward.

Despite all the online speculations and reactions, there is no confirmed evidence to suggest there is a conflict between Millie Bobby Brown and the Stranger Things cast. Instead, the actress has been publicly supportive of the series and cast, indicating that it is just another rumoured rift. What do you think? Let us know.
